Toleranting: a poem about society

This incredible poem is written and performed by Meg Beech, 2011 winner of the youth performance poetry competition SLAMbassadors UK. Addressing society and the individual, it can be used to provoke discussions around identity, politics and well-being, as well as acting as a model for spoken word poetry writing. Why not use it in class and have your students write a response? SLAMbassadors UK is the Poetry Society's annual spoken word competition for young people aged 12-18.
