Treasure map symbols/ pirate story word bank

I used the symols with mixed KS3/4 SLD/MLD students who were studying Treasure island, we first brainstormed what we migth find on a pirate / desert island, then we designed a treasure map (included, I enlarged to A3), students selected which symbols to use, some wrote own words, then we used the treasure maps to help plan our pirate stories.\nI have included a pirate name maker and a pirate story word bank.
