Designed for a Cambridge AS Study of Twelfth Night, each lesson contains puzzle-starter handouts (crosswords, word searches, cryptograms etc. - useful as bell activities!) and then follows a clear format intended to help students to:
- get a basic comprehension of the scene
- understand relevant contextual detail
- revise key quotations/language techniques from that scene
- consider specific ideas from the scene in more depth
- analyse Shakespeare's themes and purposes as apparent in that scene. Some lessons include practise paragraphs to prepare students for extended essay writing, and there are example exam questions included as well.
We watched the Trevor Nunn version first to understand plot and character, and then used the Globe production to accompany each scene, but access to these film versions isn't necessary to teach using the material provided here.

I am disappointed in some of the materials as they are formatted horribly; thus, they cannot be printed easily. A purchaser should not have to reformat something purchased so that it can be printed for students to use. I would suggest that rather than trying to "cram" so much on one page, you format the materials so that they are easily printed for use. I definitely will exercise more caution the next time when making an online purchase such as this.
