This is the 9th in a set of Unofficial exam papers for the Research Methods section of the A Level Psychology Exam.
The stimulus includes information a football manager’s decision to ban his squad from playing video games while on a football tour because of their ‘addictive’ nature. The players use diaries to report their experiences. The stimulus continues further on in the paper about an experiment to test the difference in number of hours sleep between those who play the game and those who don’t.
The paper tests:
Estimation of % from a pie chart
Improving validity of the investigation
Interpretation of a table of descriptive stats
Determining significance from a critical values table
Type 1 error
The content and purpose of an Introduction
Determining issues of internal validity
Strengths of peer review
Limitations of peer review
Design a study (12 marks) (An Observation study including information on type of observation with justification, operationalized behavioural categories, time/event sampling, assessment of reliability of data)
The mark scheme is fully comprehensive and should allow for peer marking.
I tend to use narrow margins, so if the formatting appears ‘out’ then try changing the margins to narrow. If you have any concerns or questions about this resource, please do get in touch either via this website or twitter: @blonde_pretzel or YouTube: Successful Psychology.
