## Venn diagrams level 1 to 2

Sorting data using a venn diagram. Use large hoops to sort pairs of multilink cubes. Begin with two colours eg red and green or yellow and blue. Pair up the colours and place in the correct hoop eg pairs of red in red hoop or pairs of green in green hoop and red and green pairs in the middle. White pairs of cubes outside. Pupils can make up their own using different colours.

#### Year 1 Venn Diagrams

I used this in a recent observation for my top Year 1 numeracy set. For the first part of the lesson I took the children outside and gave them two hoops. They had to decide how to use the hoops to help them sort themselves into children who had pets and children who did not have pets. We then went inside and worked through the PP with the children joining in. The main activity was to then sort a different range of data at the end such as even numbers and numbers less than 20 etc. I hope you find this useful :) Please use the PP(1) as the first has a mistake on it.
