Pupils consider what segregation & discrimination meant for black Americans after the end of slavery and before the civil rights movements inspired by MLK. By the end of the lessons pupils will be able to give their perspective on the keys and use examples to illustrate their views. The information cards/posters are at the end of the PPT and pupils can work in pairs or small groups to consider the information. Peer assessment is two starts & a wish with time for pupils to use green pen to improve their writing.
