Use this 4-page Halloween-special resource to study with your students the reason why people carve pumpkins for Halloween. The history of the Jack-o’-Lantern will keep your elementary, higher elementary and advanced ESL/EFL and native students interested in learning more about the holiday staple while evaluating their Reading Comprehension skills. The students will also acquire new vocabulary related to this holiday as well as a plethora of phrasal verbs. The worksheet consists of a text, two reading comprehension questions ( open ended questions, True - False) and three vocabulary exercises ( phrasal verbs crossword, definition matching and sentence completion). The text and exercises are fully customizable to meet the standards of your individual classroom needs if necessary. It can be completed in-class or assigned as homework.
