World Bee Day Assembly

20th May 2019

Key Stage 2

Pollinators are animals and insects that carry pollen from one plant to another. They are responsible for much of our food and flowers, and scientists believe that humans would die without plenty of pollinators on Earth. Many say the most important pollinators for our planet are bees.

The 20th of May is World Bee Day. The purpose of this special day is to acknowledge the role of bees and other pollinators.

This age-appropriate, fact-filled, colourful presentation, outlines the importance of bees in our world, lists a number of bee facts and asks us to consider what we can all do to help the bees.

This pack will save you hours of preparation time. It comprises of a 30-slide power-point presentation with a detailed script, music accompaniment and a prayer.

The presentation can be used in a number of ways;

• for a school assembly
• as a loop on the school’s visual display system
• as part of a lesson
• as an introduction to World Bee Day projects/activities.
