Year 1 Phonics Challenging Practice Flashcards Treasure or Trash (Real or Alien)

Good for reviewing sounds and blending at the start of phonics sessions. Good for Year 1 practising for the Phonics Screening. The words are longer to make it more challenging. Also good for Year 2 children who may need to practise. Tell children to watch out for digraphs, trigraphs and split digraphs. Also tell them to break the word down and sound out separate parts with their hands. Includes double consonants. There are a few alternative spellings of phonemes (ph, wr, wh, dge, gn, mb, ce, tch, le) but not the normal tricky words taught. If you want to make it easier simply add sound buttons to these flashcards. If the word is not real children put it in trash, if it is real children put it in the treasure. Don't print double sided!
