This resource includes:

-A timed response written by myself on the SAM's question for the two-year linear A-Level.
-Links of where to obtain the mark scheme and indicative content
-Written lesson plan idea for how to use in class (See Below)

QUESTION ANSWERED: How does media language incorporate viewpoints and ideologies in these front pages of The Sun and The Daily Mail?

I wrote the following 15 mark response under timed conditions in class with my students. I gave them 30 minutes to write the response to this question.

Lesson idea (Single):

Get students to mark this essay (which when moderated by another Media Teacher and my class was awarded full marks, 15 marks) either before or after they attempt it themselves. This will either give your students a basis to scaffold their work upon or an exemplar after their own timed response to indicate how they may improve.

Either course of action works best when done in groups of 3-4 and feedback given to teacher. I got my students to mark the essay and do the following:

-Give it a grade out of 15 and note down the level.
-Using the indicative content write down any WWW's and EBI's

NOTE: I am following EDUQAS Teaching Model 1 in my teaching/ SOW and my school is only providing Media Studies at A-Level, as a Two- Year Course. Moreover, each lesson has a task whereby students RAG (Red, Amber, Green) what they have learnt in the lesson against an Examiner checklist (Differentiation, peer assessment).

If you liked this resource and found it useful, it would be greatly appreciated if you could feedback or rate my resource as I am constantly trying to adapt and refine my resources to improve the learning of my students. Many thanks.
