This is an assessment for Year 2 'Living Things and Their Habitats' science objectives. Also included is a detailed mark scheme and a spreadsheet to record the results.

Explore and compare the differences between things that are living, dead, and things that have never been alive

Describe how animals obtain their food from plants and other animals, using the idea of a simple food chain, and identify and name different sources of food

Perfect for topic assessment. Just one thing - on the food chains question, children are taught that all food chains start with a Producer (a plant) but the fish, seal , polar bear chain does not have the plant producer at the start. I think what the fish eats should be included to be accurate i.e. algae in this case.
