Included in this resource is a Scheme of Work, PowerPoints for every lesson, a number of extracts from the play, worksheets and resources. Student build on their understanding of plot, themes, characters and language with opportunities for active tasks and drama. The scheme begins with a ‘Murder in the Library’ lesson that is aimed to work in any school library and encourage an interest in detective fiction. This was working towards a reading assessment based on the AQA GCSE English Literature 19th Century Text. The Scheme of Work specifies the order of the lessons, which PowerPoint to use and the resources needed. Included with this resource is an ‘Independent Learning Project Booklet’ with 10 tasks that can be used as homework or can be taught alongside the unit. The tasks are varied and creative.
