Old Specification - GCSE PE Topics on a Page AQA

I’ve adapted these from a specific company, as I felt they needed to be in colour and were missing a number of key areas on the pages, so I’ve added extra pages and information. These cover all of AQA GCSE PE theory topics and units. You can adapt them for end of topic/unit revision aids, or put them on the back of literacy mats on tables to enhance teaching and learning, as A3 posters, etc.

GCSE PE AQA (9-1) Movement Analysis - 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class Lever Systems

(2)
I have created a PowerPoint, homework and added another worksheet for pupils books covering the new AQA (9-1) syllabus on the different lever class systems in the body. The PowerPoint contains a lot of information for pupils to take in as well as a lot of questions that pupils can have a go at before the correct answer is given. The plenary questions at the end of the PowerPoint are simple closed questions, however teachers can expand on these to where they see fit in the class. The starter worksheet works well with the clip on the presentation, allowing pupils to recap previous learning on the movements the body makes. The little activity sheet is to be used as a 'what have we learned today' exercise at the end as a plenary. It will help to get the pupils to explain the definitions of the keywords used throughout the lesson. It also contains a couple of questions to make the pupils think where the lever systems would be used in sport. The homework sheet is only a few questions on the pupils knowledge of how to draw the correct linear diagrams of the levers, which would be required and no doubt come up in the paper 1 exam. I used everything here within an observation and I was commented on how well planned my PowerPoint presentation was and the effort with all the moving clips. The lesson plan is what I used to hand to my observer, which gives an outline of how I taught the lesson.

GCSE PE AQA (9-1) Movement Analysis- Planes and Axes

(1)
I have created a PowerPoint, homework and added a worksheet for pupils books covering the new AQA (9-1) syllabus on the planes and axes of the body. The PowerPoint contains a lot of information for pupils to take in. The plenary activity at the end of the PowerPoint is simple, pupils just need to complete the table, through cutting out the little pictures and writing in the sporting examples. The starter worksheet works well with the lesson content, allowing pupils to recap previous learning on the movements the body makes, which links into this lesson. . It also contains a couple of questions to make the pupils think where the planes/axes are would be used in sport. The homework sheet is only a few questions on the pupils knowledge of linking planes and axes to sporting movements.

GCSE PE AQA (9-1) Movement Analysis - Mechanical Advantages

(1)
I have created a PowerPoint covering the new AQA (9-1) syllabus on the different lever class systems in the body and their mechanical advantages. The PowerPoint contains a lot of information for pupils to take in as well as a lot of questions that pupils can have a go at before the correct answer is given. The starter questions look at previous learning on the three different levers in the body and the relation to sporting movements. The plenary questions at the end of the PowerPoint are simple maths questions using the mechanical advantage equation, however teachers can expand on these to where they see fit in the class, and possibly ask their own AoL questions.

GCSE PE Revision Topics on a Page (9-1) Paper 1 AQA

I’ve created 12 pages of the important information from all of the areas that are included in the AQA GCSE PE (9-1) Spec within paper 1. The pages are all in colour and these pages can be printed as revision booklets or as A3 literacy/knowledge mats for your classrooms and walls. I have given this to my year 10 GCSE PE class and they all love them. Definitely makes a difference to their revision for end of unit tests, with pupils who have struggled showing significant improvement in their understanding of areas covered.

GCSE PE AQA (9-1) Learning plans and Curriculum Map Year 10 Paper 1

(1)
All these learning plans cover the content of Paper 1 of the new GCSE PE AQA specification. With the amount of new content these have allowed me to plan where and when all the new content will be taught. These have allowed my pupils to see the 'Bigger Picture' more as I stick a new learning plan into their books every half term. The Curriculum Map was placed into their books at the beginning of the year.

With added worksheet.

GCSE PE AQA Scenario Revision Booklet- Ben the Gymnast 2015

(51)
A GCSE PE Scenario revision booklet with all the possible areas that could be in the May 2015 exam (what I have interpreted from it). It contains lots of information alongside how it could link with Ben and gymnastics. There are plenty of questions both past and present but no answers. It will help to get the pupils thinking of the types of questions that could come up, especially with the adapted past paper questions in the last few pages from previous years exams.

GCSE PE AQA (9-1) Antagonistic Muscle pairs and Muscle Contractions lesson resources

I have created a PowerPoint, homework and added another worksheet for pupils books covering the new AQA (9-1) syllabus on Antagonistic Muscle pairs and muscle contractions. The PowerPoint contains a lot of information for pupils to take in as well as a lot of questions that pupils can have a go at before the correct answer is given. There is also an activity that pupils can volunteer for as a class activity and interact, then give their own examples to show their understanding. The plenary questions at the end of the PowerPoint are simple closed questions, however teachers can expand on these to where they see fit in the class. The little activity sheet can be used near the beginning of the lesson once antagonistic muscle pairs are explained and the basic biceps and triceps pairing are used. It will help to get the pupils to explain the actions in their own words. The homework sheet is only a few questions out of 10, however these will help to consolidate pupils knowledge and understanding of the lesson that has been taught.

GCSE PE AQA Scenario 2017 Revision Booklet - James

(4)
I have created a revision booklet based on the AQA GCSE PE 2017 Scenario of James after the success of the last two years of revision booklet I created. The information that is in the booklet is what I think may appear in this year's exam paper. There may be areas that I have not covered but that is for your discretion to add more to it for your pupils as extra revision material. It contains exam questions for your pupils to have a go at answering and advice on how to attack the 8 mark questions. There are two pages of multiple choice questions and short/long answer questions for pupils to have a go and answer, even through using the revision booklet.

GCSE PE Theory Units Knowledge Summary - AQA

These have been created to allow pupils to see what they are going to learn about throughout the year in their text books. Once they have learned a particular lesson or topic they can tick the box. If they know and understand that topic/lesson they can tick the next box, and then when it comes to revising they can tick the box to say that they have revised it. I have used this with my current year 10s and they can see what they have been taught and learnt throughout the year, through ticking the boxes. Great way of pupils not being able to tell you, 'We haven't learnt this!'.
