The students think about each of their senses in turn, smelling, touching, tasting, hearing and seeing. They make notes about each of these. They then write a full description of the picture. Book 30: The Shell (I Can See Sam Series), Guided Reading Questions and Reading Certificate

(0)
I See Sam Books are a series of early reader books developed to teach children in kindergarten to read. The original series, written in 1972, as part of Southwest Regional Educational Laboratory's (SWRL) Beginning Reading Program (BRP), contained 52 books. I have extended the number of resources. Please visit my I See Sam TES Resources website at http://www.ISeeSam.Online for more. Book 30: The Shell New Words Sand, sell, shell - decodable Plot Summary Ann the Giraffe is at the beach. She hopes to catch and sell some fish. An octopus sees her fishing hook and plays a trick on her. He attaches the hook to a big shell and hides inside the shell. When Ann pulls out the shell, she is delighted. The octopus fears Ann will sell the shell with him in it. But Ann is frightened by the octopus, who takes Ann’s sheet and settles in the sea shell. Each new word throughout the program is repeated at least five times in the book in which it first appears and five more times in the next ten books. The first book in the series starts with just 3 words: I, see, Sam. Every book or two adds a few words, until by book 52, the readers have read 95 different words. The SWRL Kindergarten Beginning Reading Program was first implemented in U.S. public schools in the early 1970's. Due to its tremendous success at achieving its goal of teaching young children to read, over the years the program has been copied, edited and/or revised by a number of individuals, institutions, and companies.

Big Grammar Books 1 and 2 Together! 202 Beginner Worksheets for pupils (few overlaps between them)

(2)
Big Grammar Book 1: It’s jam-packed from cover to cover with a great selection of photocopiable worksheets taken from the popular website. We wanted to provide teachers with a really useful book of no-nonsense grammar worksheets that they can dip into and use in class with students at Entry Level (ESOL Core Curriculum Entry Levels 1 & 2). It is also ideal for students to work with at home since the answers are all printed at the back. The book is divided into four parts and is graded in difficulty, so that it begins with some basic stuff and builds up to more challenging grammar activities. It features a selection of Essential English worksheets which provide practice for crucial basic areas of knowledge for learners at Entry Level, like using numbers, writing the alphabet, spelling days and months correctly, and so on. Big Grammar Book 2: Like its older sibling, BGB 2 is packed with 101 printable worksheets for teaching and improving grammar skills in English. The topics are wide and varied, starting with Essential English worksheets that cover the basics, like the alphabet, days, months, and telling the time; then tenses (a lot about tenses!), then irregular verbs, question forms, word order in sentences, parts of English, uncountable nouns, and so on! If you have used the first BGB, you will know what to expect from this one. Around 25% of the worksheets in this book are closely modelled on activities in BGB 1, for example Full Stops 1 & 2 (pp.68-69). The material starts off at beginner level, with the alphabet worksheets, then gets progressively more difficult, while staying in Elementary (A1 / A2) level. Only towards the end do things get “tougher”, with articles, conditionals, and phrasal verbs making their inevitable appearance! Don’t worry – all the answers and notes for use are included at the back of this book.

This is a wonderful collection of 33 different images of bridges, photographed at different times of the day. I have added 31 different teaching activities to help you use these cards effectively. They will help to improve your students' memory and vocabulary skills. This resource would make an excellent introduction to anyone teaching about bridges. It also has a link at the end of the presentation to a great set of teaching and studying notes about the 5 main types of bridges. I would especially use this resource if I were going to present a bridge building challenge to my class, so they have an idea about the different ways they could build a long, solid bridge. If you like this resource, please leave a comment and a review. For more of my teaching resources, please visit my Educational Resources Blog (http://www.timetoteach.co.uk).
