Resources to help you to kick-start learning in the spring term

Start the new term with a bang using this hand-picked selection of activities, lessons and displays, which look at making resolutions and setting clear targets for the year ahead.

  1. New Year's resolutions lesson
Introduce older pupils to the concept of reflective practice by asking them to write a review of the past year using the colourful presentation provided.

  2. Resolutions tasks
In this thoughtful writing activity, your class can make resolutions and wishes for themselves, their school and the world around them.

  3. Target bookmarks
Once these bookmarks have been filled in, they can be laminated and used with your students' favourite books, to remind them of the goals they've set for the year ahead.

  4. New Year presentation
Encourage early years learners to think about how and why we celebrate the beginning of a new year with this introductory presentation, which can be adapted to suit 2017.

  5. Behaviour expectation displays
Finally, ensure you set clear behaviour expectations for 2017 with this vibrant and adaptable display, containing rewards, sanctions and classroom rules.

Don't forget to keep an eye on the dedicated primary and early years sections of our blog for more seasonal resources inspiration.
