Our top 10 end of term Christmas activities

Deck the (school) halls; it’s almost Christmas! Make the most of the end of term countdown with our favourite festive picks for early years and primary pupils.

Young learners can practise number recognition and counting skills with these rocking robin bingo cards. Bring some melismatic fa-la-la-ing into your classroom with this selection of Christmas songs, including well-loved classics as well as some simple rhymes. Encourage image recognition and communication with these Christmas flashcards, which can be used to play snap and happy families. This extensive Widgit pack contains stories, writing activities and games, each with clear visual accompaniments.  A variation on the Twelve Days of Christmas, this PowerPoint presentation replaces the traditional items with easily obtainable objects, which children can bring into the classroom.

‘Tis the season to be…arty! This detailed resource pack (£3) contains a variety of Christmas themed craft suggestions, including instructions for making 3d ornaments and Christmas cards. Test students’ general knowledge with this seasonal quiz, which contains rounds on Christmas trivia, yuletide lyrics and festive films. Encourage pupils to develop their literacy skills while embracing the Christmas spirit, with this holiday story competition. Learners can help the three wise men to save Christmas with this interactive maths game, which demonstrates the rules of symmetry. Finally, give children a break from thinking too hard with an end of term treat in the form of Christmas bingo.
