Weave Sculpture Project

Weave Sculpture Project

This is a collaborative 3d project complete scheme of work. You will find everything you need to teach this amazing project. It includes, 22 pages of powerpoints with step by step guides, visual resources, pictures and technical explanations It combines all the essential making and building skills needed for a creative and rewarding project. Each student makes a few wire frames to contain their artwork. Each square is a blank canvas where you can sew fabric and glue skins to the frame. You can embellish each square by adding interesting items, drawing and painting housed in tea bags, interesting weaves or anything else that’s relatively light. Once students have built their finished pieces they can fix them together to form complex 3d sculptures, wall hangings or stain glass artwork. All work can be stored flat until you need to complete the sculpture.  This collaborative project is a hit with all ages of students and is an excellent method of developing both 3d technical precision, broader creativity and independent working skills.

Drawing Skills with Stick and Ink

Drawing Skills with Stick and Ink

This resource is designed to teach KS3 how to use stick and ink. There are three differentiated worksheets, which means you get three versions of each worksheet.1) For the least able - this has a faint image that they can work over.2) For the majority - this has faint marks in a few places to help them with the overall shape.3) For the most able - This just has the image of the shell to copy. There is also a WAGOLL (What a good one looks like) which clearly shows that stick and ink can be used to make a range of marks and tone. (They must let that ink run out!) Also a mark making sheet.I would teach this in two lessons. 1st lesson mark making for 3/4 of the lesson and then start drawing a few guide lines lightly in pencil on their shell. 2nd lesson, stick and ink shell. Please click on the images to see exactly what you are getting!

Male or Female Art - can you tell the difference?

Male or Female Art - can you tell the difference?

A fun starter to engage them as soon as they arrive and a good one to tick the equality and diversity box with opportunities to discuss gender and the way men and women tackle subject matter, challenging stereotypical view points. Really good for generating discussion with A Level and GCSE classes, and I've also used it in PSHE lessons to good effect.
