Creating a Rainbow Scratch Picture in paint.net

Creating a Rainbow Scratch Picture in paint.net

This is the computer version of an art activity that used to involve colored crayons, black paint and drawing by scratching in the wet paint with the blunt end of a paint brush. Designed for teachers needing to include some computer technologies in their junior and middle school art programs the resource pages can be be used as a student handout or as a reference for guided instruction. The software named in this resource is paint.net (readily available and free ) but the instructions given are easily transferable to any paint or photo-manipulation software with layered transparencies. The zip file included contains a paint.net file that has the colored background and black top layers already created. This could be used as a template for younger students, allowing them to simply draw and have the background colors show through. Please complete a review of this resource if you have found it useful.

Embroidery Stitch Videos - Step by Step

Embroidery Stitch Videos - Step by Step

This resources provide you with videos showing step by step processes to do 7 of the core embroidery stitches. This is perfect for KS2, 3, 4 and 5 as the video show you exactly how to do each stitch from start to finish. This is also great for first timers who want to learn embroidery. The stitches are: Running, Back, Laced, French Knots, Blanket, Cross and Chain I created these for a specific purpose to start off with and that was to differentiate for the LAL's. Reality is, having these on a loop in the lesson has meant all students have been much more independent learners and managed to problem solve themselves before always shouting out 'Mrs'. The videos are great for quick little recaps but I mainly create them into GIF's and place them into a powerpoint as they then play on a continuous loop throughout the lessons. They aide with your demonstration as they can watch both and also most kids are now used to watching instructional video's (like TASTY) on their phones that they seem to respond much better to this than written instructions or just one still image. These took me forever to make with over 60 images per video but I put them on here before these have been so beneficial to me, I bet they would work really well for you too! You will use these FOREVER!
