Early Readers Bundle

Early Readers Bundle

This is a collection of different early reader books and teaching resources I think you will really enjoy using. I developed my own thinking scarves reading scheme as a replacement for the thinking hats reading scheme and I even converted a whole set of books which could be used with the scheme. I also created PowerPoint versions of a wide range of different "Can you spot it books" where you need to find all the different objects listed in the picture.

mathematics - song booklet

mathematics - song booklet

I put this booklet together and added pictures that can be printed off, laminated and used with the songs. We really enjoyed it, hope it is of use :) ( there are a couple of pictures missing as I already had them) some songs haven’t got tunes, we just chanted them, adding rhythm when possible. Most of the others are well known tunes. I am afraid I haven’t got the music script for them. I am sure there is a site on the internet that will help with the tunes x

KS1 The Tempest Topic Planning Web - Shakespeare Week

KS1 The Tempest Topic Planning Web - Shakespeare Week

This is a topic web for KS1 teachers wanting their pupils to be learning about the life of William Shakespeare as well as the story of The Tempest. The Tempest is one of Shakespeare's most magical plays and young children love the characters of Wizard Prospero, Sprite Ariel and Monster Caliban. This is a cross curricular topic web showing you ways teachers can base learning for KS1 children around the story and Shakespeare's life, linked to all areas of the curriculum - even maths!Great for Shakespeare Week, I have seen ideas in here used to create great planning and learning opportunities which have been observed as fantastic lessons and produced some great work from children.

There are 3 levels of questioning they work through and discuss with their partners progressing from what can I literally see, to what questions I want to ask and then what can I infer from the picture.

World Food Day

World Food Day

A great assembly to introduce World Food Day, or to to discuss the issues around food shortages around the world. One of the biggest issues related to climate change is food security. The world’s poorest - many of whom are farmers, fishers and pastorals - are being hit hardest by higher temperatures and an increasing frequency in weather-related disasters. At the same time, the global population is growing steadily and is expected to reach 9.6 billion by 2050. To meet such a heavy demand, agriculture and food systems will need to adapt to the adverse effects of climate change and become more resilient, productive and sustainable. This is the only way that we can ensure the wellbeing of ecosystems and rural populations and reduce emissions.

Hens' and Dragons' eggs

Hens' and Dragons' eggs

This is a cracking resource ideal for the run up to Easter. It tells the story of two girls who stay on a farm for the Easter weekend and are tricked into collecting both hens' eggs and chocolate ones. The children are asked questions about the story and are asked to consider what free range really means. The second half of this resource looks at an extract describing the hatching of Norbert the baby dragon from Harry Potter and includes a poem about a dragon's birth. Children are then asked to write about the hatching of their own baby dragon. This resource would be ideal to use around Easter time and will inspire creativity when decorating eggs at this time of year.

OVER 140 Editable RECIPES

OVER 140 Editable RECIPES

Calling all Home Ec and Culinary teachers... Looking for a food recipe? These are MY recipes: crock pot recipes, easy recipes... all of my favorites. And this growing collection of recipes is editable!Recently updated with extra recipes!I’ve tried and loved these recipes over the years. I've made notes on them and tweaked them to my taste. My 12-year old son complimented with, “Mom, can you make sure I have all of your recipes before you die?” That lovely (albeit odd) request led me to begin typing up my recipes. And since I have an older son who lives half a country away, I decided to make a Christmas gift of a recipe book. This undertaking was not as easy as it sounds. I typed, printed, laminated, AND inserted recipes into a recipe book (bought at Michael’s with my 40% off coupon: Score!). Bonus: All of my own scattered recipes are also laminated and neatly organized.Extra Bonus: They are ready to assemble for my next child with the click of a button. Extra Bonus Plus: They are ready to include in my store for gourmands like you! These recipes are editable. You may not like onions. You may not want the name “Jack’s Potato Soup.” I almost neutralized them, but decided against it. Feel free to click, cut, and “fix” to your liking.Another way to use these? Print, laminate, stack, and tie with a fancy ribbon for a great TEACHER'S GIFT! It’s inexpensive, easy, and will be treasured! If you are the Homeroom parent, this is a great gift for the teacher. The recipe cards include: --Spinach- Stuffing Bites--The BEST Chicken Salad--Chinese Chicken Salad--Chicken Wreath--Chase Pasta Bake--Sausage Surprise--Oreo Balls--Avalanche Cookies--Braden’s Broccoli Casserole--Rose’s Microwaved Scalloped Potatoes --Slow Cooker Macaroni--Chocolate Chip Fluffand much, much more! This product is made with PowerPoint. It is not intended to be viewed; it is intended to be printed. Simply print and clip! Thanks!Happy eating!Home Economics is now also called Domestic Science, Domestic Economy, or Home Management.
