This bundle contains everything for the French GCSE New Specifications Speaking Exam:1. A Complete Set of 90 Role-Plays, covering Themes 1, 2 and 3. Foundation and higher tier role-plays and teacher’s packs for all. All complied by studying exemplar materials given by all exam boards. 2. 40 different photo cards, all have 5 questions and there are a wide range of questions to cover both foundation and higher tiers. The cards cover all 3 themes and all 12 topics/ sub-themes. 3. This is a booklet that can be printed for each student and contains approximately 200 general conversation questions. These questions have put together by researching all exam boards specifications. The questions are in themes and in the 12 topics/sub-themes. They have also been classified into tenses so that pupils can be clear of the tense they need to use to answer the relevant question.

Work experience

Aimed at GCSE pupils writing about work experience. Sheet 1 gives sentence starters for questions starting with what pupils are studying at school proceeding through all areas of the work experience and a reflecton on its value, including an area for consciously developing points made. Sheet 2 shows how pupils could use some more sophisticated grammatical structures within the context of work experience. Sheet 3 is a computer lesson (could also be done in the classroom) where pupils actively develop their ideas giving opinions, justification and using connectives and more complicated tenses in the context of work experience. Sheet 4 is a list of possible tasks pupils could have done during the work experience. Sheet 5 is a collection of sentence starters to take pupils through a whole piece of writing about work experience. Sheet 6 is an exercise where pupils categorise reasons to do work experience - this is more challenging French.

This is a set of 30 role-plays in a printable format to use for mock/ preparation/ class practice for speaking exams. These are all based on Theme 3 – Current and Future Study and Employment. They have been complied by studying exemplar materials given by all exam boards. There are 15 foundation tier and 15 higher tier role-plays. There is a teacher’s pack for each set of role-plays, giving the teacher’s part for each conversation. There are also two Power Points, one for the foundation role-plays, one for the higher set. Each PowerPoint starts with an explanation of the role play section of the exam and then shows each role play card, followed by showing the (!) unknown question so that students can also prepare for that/ start to predict what the unknown question could be.

GCSE READING - WORK EXPERIENCE

This activity comprises of a gcse level text (TOPIC: EDUCATION AND WORK/work experience) followed by 11 comprehension questions. I usually give the students 30mn to answer the questions in English. We then correct and discuss answers together. As a plenary I ask them to highlight 5 words from the text that they did not know/were unsure about at the start of the activity. The students have to write down the meaning of those words in English. I posted an activity like this one for every topic of the GCSE exam. My students really enjoyed it, hope it helps!
