Les repas, using 3 tenses. Studio 2 Module 4

Les repas, using 3 tenses. Studio 2 Module 4

This is a lesson based on Studio 2, module 4 chez moi, chez toi, but I added the near future tense in the lesson, as the texts from the Studio dod not allow for this and there was a need to stretch more able. You will need to refer to the texts from Studio 2 to do the translations, but these can be done without looking at the texts if Studio 2 is not used. The sequencing activities was a differentiated activitiy to stretch more able while others needed consolidation with the tenses ( refer to lesson plan )

French: Les Fruits Smoothie Challenge

French: Les Fruits Smoothie Challenge

Pupils race against the clock and each other to find the meaning of 22 fruits. Task 1: work on your won to find as many of the words as you can in the allocated time (teacher to set classroom timer and provide dictionaries). Task 2: work with a partner to share answers in the allocated time. Task 3: circulate the classroom and exchange words with others in an attempt to fill in the blanks (at this point I offer my own services and offer one exchange with each pupil- they have usually left the trickier ones to the end and might need you to support in this way in order to translate all 22). Most are fruit, some are liquids- enabling them to create a simple but delicious fruit smoothie. Task 4: select 5 ingredients for a fruit smoothie (you could reward the winner).Great for developing dictionary skills; increasing vocabulary; encouraging pupil interaction and using language creatively.3 sheets are provided- 2 in colour (a pink version and a blue version) and 1 in black and white.

Healthy Living Writing/ Speaking practice GCSE

Healthy Living Writing/ Speaking practice GCSE

Writing and Speaking practice for the new GCSE (based on the AQA scheme of work), can be used across any language (in my school we use it for German, French and Spanish).I use this at the end of a module for students to recap and add it to their file for future reference. It prepares them for writing assessments and the general conversation part of the speaking assessment. There are 8 questions for students to answer on the topic HEALTHY LIVING.I have also included a generic checklist for students to use, to make sure they are using tenses, opinions, justification etc. as well as a blank checklist for teachers/ students to add language specifics/ extra criteria for higher target grades. I am also selling similar placemats for other topics.

Contains 25 images. la pommele bananela fraisel'orangela tomatela carotteles petits poisles champignonsles haricots vertsles fritesla saucissela viandele poissonle pouletle painle beurrele fromagele sandwichle croissantle gâteaules crêpesl'œufl'eaule laitle jus d'orangeThis could be modified as to how many items you need to teach. Based on the game show where the aim is to complete a line of connecting hexagonal shapes either from side to side or from top to bottom. To gain control of a shape, students have to name the picture to gain control of the shape. This could be extended by naming the colour of the item and even further by say if you like, love, don't like or hate the fruit/vegetable in question. You could even say how often you eat the particular fruit or vegetable. The opportunities are endless. Have fun. My students did! Quiz Quiz Trade Year 8 French

Quiz Quiz Trade Year 8 French

three sets of cards in French and English about the topics of: music, technolgy and internet, reading, healthy eating and common past tenses with avoir, for Year 8.Useful for revision and plenaries, as well as to practice listening, reading, translation and speaking/pronunciation. the cards have short key phrases and vocab in French and English.QUIZ QUIZ TRADE is a Kagan activity where each student is given a card with both sections, all class walks around with cards in their hands and on a music background (I would suggest French pop music like Stromae), until theteacher says Stop/Partenaire or something similar, students need to high five with the first student they bump into and reading each other's cards to be translated (they might have 30/40 seconds), then they swap cards. Repeat this at least three times so that each student has swapped minimum three cards. I do this activity often and it does work a lot, engaging all students, the the music does the rest :)

GCSE French bundle of translation/narrow reading units

GCSE French bundle of translation/narrow reading units

This is all eight of our GCSE (Higher Tier) units which can be purchased separately for £3. Each unit contains 6-8 pages of exercises (matching, translation both ways, gap-fill, comprehension) leading up to five graded translations into French. The concept of "narrow reading" is key here. Each unit contains a number of short reading texts, each one designed to recycle similar language items based on a unifying theme. The final translations may look hard to some, but students will manage them after the tightly structured preceding tasks. These units could be set for homework or done in class. All answers are provided for self-marking. We think you'll find them a very useful supplement to your other resources. At £15 they are an extremely good value, photocopiable resource.

A table tout le monde studio 2 rouge

A table tout le monde studio 2 rouge

Module 4 unit 3Power point teaching food, followed by a real food tasting where pupils need to go around the room, taste the French food and express an opinion on it. Very funny activity and it worked really well with my students. At the end they do a writing task where they use the opinions (c'est trop sucré, c'est trop salé, ça me fait vomir etc...) to compare food, hence it recaps also food. To go well with the chapter in the book.

le futur simple: les résolutions pour 2017

le futur simple: les résolutions pour 2017

This is a worksheet created with a set 2 year 9 in mind to introduce the futur simple. The futur proche had already been introduced and practised last term and the idea was to make the approach to this new tense more independent. It includes translation, reading and listening activities. The introduction of the irregular exceptions is done with a 'listen and spell' activity.
