Friends, Family and Relationships Writing/ Speaking practice GCSE

Friends, Family and Relationships Writing/ Speaking practice GCSE

Writing and Speaking practice for the new GCSE (based on the AQA scheme of work), can be used across any language (in my school we use it for German, French and Spanish).I use this at the end of a module for students to recap and add it to their file for future reference. It prepares them for writing assessments and the general conversation part of the speaking assessment. There are 8 questions for students to answer on the topic FRIENDS, FAMILY AND RELATIONSHIPS.I have also included a generic checklist for students to use, to make sure they are using tenses, opinions, justification etc. as well as a blank checklist for teachers/ students to add language specifics/ extra criteria for higher target grades. I am also selling similar placemats for other topics.

Wir verstehen uns gut...manchmal (part 1)

This is a 2 hours lesson on family members and relationships from the new Stimmt GCSE 9-1. It starts with a very brief revision of family members, it includes relative pronouns in the nominative case and then practice with possessive adjectives in the nominative and accusative case (see grammar worksheets). Pupils will do a running dictation with relationship phrases (ich komme gut mit...aus/ ich kann sie nicht leiden...) and then solve a mystery. Final activity a timed speaking presentation on your family and friends + relationships. Pupils really understood the grammar and the vocab by the end of it.

Memory and Recall tasks for GCSE German

Memory and Recall tasks for GCSE German

A booklet of (homework?) tasks which students can use once the unit of work is complete to help them revisit vocabulary and phrases to help keep them fresh. The tasks could be given straight after completion of a unit of work or for example at the start of Year 11 to review work covered in Year 10. This unit is based on the me, my friends and family unit of work which my students study in Year 10. I will give these tasks to them over the next 6 weeks as revision home works and then reissue the booklet in Year 11 for further revision. The tasks are best printed out as an A5 stapled booklet.

German GCSE complete learning grids for topics 1 and 2 (me, my family and friends' new technology). These are designed for students to have random practice in key questions which might arise in the speaking and writing exams. They are in the form of 6 x 6 grids and are used by students throwing 2 dice (which give them a coordinate on the grid) and then answering the question. As the GCSE questions are in random orders, these grids give students key exam practice.
