GERMAN VOCABULARY (2) - PRACTICE & REVISION - 99 WORDS & PHRASES

GERMAN VOCABULARY (2) - PRACTICE & REVISION - 99 WORDS & PHRASES

PERFECT FOR PRACTISING AND REVISING GERMAN VOCABULARY - 99 ESSENTIAL WORDS AND PHRASES FOR BEGINNING GERMAN LEARNERS!This set of games and activities really do help students to develop and embed their beginning GERMAN vocabulary in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way. They’re ideal for independent learning, and perfect for pair and small-group work. Students can quiz/test themselves and each other on a regular basis - they're a very popular alternative to more traditional vocabulary 'drilling tasks', and really do help to create a lively language learning environment. This set features 99 BEGINNING WORDS AND PHRASES that students are likely to meet in the INTRODUCTORY stages of their GERMAN learning:- Begrüßungen (2)- die Farben- der Körper/die Körperteile- die Zahlen 21-40- das Wetter- Deutsch im Klassenzimmer (2)- Fragen und Antworten (2)I've described the resource as suitable for ages 11-14, but it does depend on the age at which your students begin GERMAN - the games and activities work well with any appropriate learning group, depending on their starting point. There are two non-editable files in a zipped format:FILE 1: GERMAN and ENGLISH game cards, with all the words and phrases to use in a variety of games and activities - I've suggested a range of games and activities that have worked well for me. This file also includes the game card template, which encourages your students to apply their developing knowledge of GERMAN practically and creatively.FILE 2 - this is an 18-page REFERENCE, RECALL & WRITE booklet. All the words and phrases are listed GERMAN-ENGLISH in language categories, and there are 3 differentiated RECALL & WRITE activities to help your students really practise and review the vocabulary:CHILLOUT CHALLENGE: students write from memory all the words and phrases in ENGLISH from a GERMAN prompt - all the words/phrases are in their language categoryCHAMPION CHALLENGE: students write from memory all the words and phrases in GERMAN from an ENGLISH prompt - again, all the words and phrases are in their language categorySUPERCHARGED CHALLENGE: all the words and phrases appear in random order, and switch from GERMAN to ENGLISH at each question - this really does put students' memories to the test!SETS 1-3 featuring 297words and phrases are available as a combined pack, priced at £7:https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/german-vocabulary-1-3-practice-and-revision-297-words-and-phrases-11521379SETS 1-5, featuring 495 words and phrases, are priced at £10.00 as a combined pack:https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/german-vocabulary-1-5-practice-and-revision-495-words-and-phrases-11521405Please read the Terms of Use carefully - the resource is for single-classroom use only.VIELEN DANK UND VIEL SPAß!

KS4 German: What should you be? Job quiz!

KS4 German: What should you be? Job quiz!

Fun independent activity for KS4 German. In lessons we covered jobs, personality words, and modal verbs: then students created a flowchart quiz using questions about personality and future plans (I used lucidchart.com to create mine!). They loved bringing in their flowcharts and doing each other's!

German Grand Prix Game Starter Plenary Revision

German Grand Prix Game Starter Plenary Revision

To celebrate the German F1 Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring I have created this interactive game for my German students. Enter your own questions and multiple choice answers and watch as two teams battle it out to be the first car past the finishing line. Possible instructions on the first slide. ENABLE ALL MACROS AND REDUCE SECURITY ON YOUR PC FOR THIS TO WORK PROPERLY. I will split my class up into two teams and give everybody a mini whiteboard. Pupils will write the answer of the question on their mini whiteboard and hold it up after my count down. The team with the most correct answers will be the team who's car will move around the screen (just click on the car) Enjoy, and I look forward to your feedback :)

Jollyphonics

Keywords: Pronunciation, Phonics, Sounds of German. This lesson can be the first lesson for new learners of German (either KS2 or KS3). It blends visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learning strategies to embed the key sounds of German so that learners can apply this knowledge straightaway to new language they encounter. They develop autonomy and confidence quickly with this approach. Look out for the other lessons in this term's work. There are 33 PowerPoint lesson resources in this series that offer progression and generate high levels of motivation. Author: Leigh McClelland, AST, Comberton Village College

Wir verstehen uns gut...manchmal (part 1)

Wir verstehen uns gut...manchmal (part 1)

This is a 2 hours lesson on family members and relationships from the new Stimmt GCSE 9-1. It starts with a very brief revision of family members, it includes relative pronouns in the nominative case and then practice with possessive adjectives in the nominative and accusative case (see grammar worksheets). Pupils will do a running dictation with relationship phrases (ich komme gut mit...aus/ ich kann sie nicht leiden...) and then solve a mystery. Final activity a timed speaking presentation on your family and friends + relationships. Pupils really understood the grammar and the vocab by the end of it.

Memory and Recall tasks for GCSE German

Memory and Recall tasks for GCSE German

A booklet of (homework?) tasks which students can use once the unit of work is complete to help them revisit vocabulary and phrases to help keep them fresh. The tasks could be given straight after completion of a unit of work or for example at the start of Year 11 to review work covered in Year 10. This unit is based on the me, my friends and family unit of work which my students study in Year 10. I will give these tasks to them over the next 6 weeks as revision home works and then reissue the booklet in Year 11 for further revision. The tasks are best printed out as an A5 stapled booklet.
