Grammar focus is the PRESENT TENSE rule (regular and some irregular verbs in all persons). GERMAN SPEAKING PROMPTS (2) - 100 CARDS & REFERENCE BOOKLET

GERMAN SPEAKING PROMPTS (2) - 100 CARDS & REFERENCE BOOKLET

PERFECT FOR DEVELOPING SPEAKING SKILLS IN GERMAN - QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS WITH A FOCUS ON BEGINNING CONVERSATION & CULTURAL INFORMATIONTALK TIME in GERMAN, SAMMLUNG ZWEI, is a set of 100 question and answer prompt cards that give your students structured talk opportunities, and will also get them listening, reading and writing. They’re ideal for independent learning, and perfect for pair and small-group work. The prompt cards feature language and structures that your students are likely to meet in both the earlier and more intermediate stages of their GERMAN learning, and including PRESENT and PERFECT TENSE phrases, featuring both HABEN und SEIN. I've classed the resource as suitable for Grades 6-9, but it really does depend on where your students currently are in their GERMAN, and the areas they might need to focus on at specific times during the school year. The REFERENCE BOOKLET includes all the questions and answers written out in full in GERMAN. Students find this a very useful learning support resource and it's also a handy whole-group pronunciation practice and reading-out loud resource. Students use the NOTES AND NEXT STEPS template to reflect on their learning, and think about what they might reasonably do to progress in their learning. The QUESTION AND ANSWER WRITING TEMPLATES give students the opportunity to apply their GERMAN very practically, as they create both questions and answers for each other. This is a great team activity too.SAMMLUNG ZWEI is a great complementary resource to SAMMLUNG EINS in terms of progression, but it works perfectly well as a standalone resource too. You can also use the cards for a whole range of games and activities, and I've described how to play several you can start with. The prompt cards do take a bit of prep: printing and laminating. Laminating is definitely recommended, as you’ll be able to use the cards for years to come. Print out an appropriate number of question and answer templates (black and white is fine). Students should ideally have their own individual reference booklet that they can keep in their learning folders to use for reference, practice and revision when they need to.SETS 1 & 2, featuring 200 prompt cards with reference booklets, are also available as a combined resource at the special price of $6.00 - have a look at it here:https://www.tes.com/us/teacher-lessons/german-speaking-prompts-1-and-2-200-cards-and-reference-booklets-11567176The resource consists of two non-editable files in a zipped format: the prompt cards and the Reference, Recall & Write booklet. Please read the Terms of Use carefully: this resource is copyright, and for single-classroom use only.VIELEN DANK UND VIEL SPAß!

GERMAN GCSE SPEAKING EXAM NEW SPEC SUPPORT BOOKLET/WORKBOOK

GERMAN GCSE SPEAKING EXAM NEW SPEC SUPPORT BOOKLET/WORKBOOK

(Newly added note - I've just gone to download the booklet from school, having produced it at home, and the formatting is different, must be a different version of Word. So I've gone through again and amended. If anyone has bought this one and would like the other version, please comment and I'll send it to you. Thanks) I've used the new AQA specimen papers to create this comprehensive booklet which will support GCSE pupils in their learning for the Speaking exams. Although I've used the AQA specimen, I'm sure this would be very usable for Edexcel too. Included on here is the English and example answers for all sections - role-play, photo cards and general conversation, for both higher and foundation, plus the mark scheme and the example cards. There's also a tracker, lots of explanations and a list of high frequency words which can be used for testing. There are two sections for them to practise their own answers and they can fold the papers over for better testing. Students can pair up and take turns to be the examiner and they can check their answers with the mark scheme. I plan to give this to my year 10 class in chunks at a time, so we have continued work on one section at a time as we go through - this booklet will feature heavily in homework I set my year 10s for the next year and a half! (Could also be given as advanced prep to year 9s). This has taken an enormous amount of time so I'd appreciate any feedback. If you spot a mistake, please be gentle ;) but please let me know. I phoned up the exam board and checked that they were happy for me to do this and that I wasn't showing anything I shouldn't, and it's all fine :) Hope it's really useful!

I have pieced together some resources for the World Cup in SA 2010. Attached are 2 presentations, one in German and one in French and two corresponding workbooks, which are to be printed, given out and worked through over about 6/7 lessons. At the end of each document is the task bank, of which there are 5 tasks, taking up 5 lessons where the class apply the knowledge learned in the course (and in previous KS2/3 units) to fulfil the requirements of the tasks. German Grand Prix Game Starter Plenary Revision

German Grand Prix Game Starter Plenary Revision

To celebrate the German F1 Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring I have created this interactive game for my German students. Enter your own questions and multiple choice answers and watch as two teams battle it out to be the first car past the finishing line. Possible instructions on the first slide. ENABLE ALL MACROS AND REDUCE SECURITY ON YOUR PC FOR THIS TO WORK PROPERLY. I will split my class up into two teams and give everybody a mini whiteboard. Pupils will write the answer of the question on their mini whiteboard and hold it up after my count down. The team with the most correct answers will be the team who's car will move around the screen (just click on the car) Enjoy, and I look forward to your feedback :)

Mirror Vocab - Health

Mirror Vocab - Health

A vocab learning activity using health vocab based on a popular technique called mirroring. Students read 3 items at a time to their partner with definitions and repeat twice. Mixing up the order of words is effective. The partner repeats back parrot-fashion. After 8 mins or so, swap roles. Do a vocab test at the end and see the results!
