¿Dónde están mis regalos de navidad?

¿Dónde están mis regalos de navidad?

Thanks to Diana Martínez, a brilliant young colleague from Mexico, here is the second Spanish game in the ¡Busquemos el tesoro escondido! series. The focus in ¿Dónde están mis regalos de navidad? is self-explanatory. This resource works both as a teacher-directed activity and as a small group game. Even reluctant learners will be motivated to listen carefully and the promise of “treasure” always generates enthusiastic oral participation. After the oral treasure hunt, assign a handful of co-ordinates for instant written conjugation practice. The answer keys are in thebpresent and future tenses but the game can be played in virtually every verb tense. Please note that we have opted to use Mexican Spanish wherever possible. To see if this activity is right for your students, please download this free sister resource, ¡Busquemos el tesoro escondido! (AR-ending verbs):https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/-busquemos-el-tesoro-escondido-ar-ending-verbs-2-0-11522811

Preguntas orales para Spanish Year 1 (AQA)_Bank of prompting questions and advice

Preguntas orales para Spanish Year 1 (AQA)_Bank of prompting questions and advice

¡Al fin acabé!I have finally finished putting together oral questions to practice for the speaking. This is a 26 pages booklet with a few hundred questions that students can use to practice but also to research some topic areas. First couple of pages also include info about the oral examination and some tips. And then, there is a bank of idioms that students can use with translations and examples of the idioms so that they can see how they would be used. They are all grouped per topic but can be used for lots of other topics.

La Pascua Display - Easter Spanish Display

La Pascua Display - Easter Spanish Display

Simple display cards to get your room and your students in the festive Easter spirit. My students love Easter! (It must be the chocolate!) and the display is nice when surrounded by students work. Alternatively use the activity attached also. I use these as a game first to introduce the vocabulary to my students. They are placed around my room and students are given a list of Easter vocabulary in English. They then have to find the Spanish equivalent. It's nice to watch students discover the vocabulary themselves as opposed to looking at a PowerPoint and writing everything down in a vocabulary book. Once the lesson is finished they can go onto a display board. Please note this is a .pdf display only.

Speaking cards, general questions and situations La identidad regional (AQA)

Speaking cards, general questions and situations La identidad regional (AQA)

This is the 5th instalment of stimulus cards, questions and an exercise for improvisation in preparation for the AQA oral exam. **Please note there might be a problem seeing the preview. TES are aware of this and are trying to solve the issue.**The stimulus cards focus, amongst other subtopics, on the celebration of El Día E (Día del español); el "tapeo", regional stereotypes ("Ocho Apellidos Vascos");the waste of food in La Tomatina... This time I have put more emphasis on the students being critical and analytical, as they would have moved to the second part of the AS and they are more able to make comparisons, deductions, etc. The cards include the source so that they can not only be practiced in class but could be used for background reading prior to the preparation and practice. The general questions are self explanatory! Finally, I have included an exercise for improvisation where students have to say/write the opposite and can develop arguments as detailed as you ask them!I welcome any feedback on this resource or any of the series (they are all published in TES). Hopefully, they will make your life easier and your students will feel challenged, enjoy and learn with them. Hasta la próxima, Blanca

Spanish AS 2016 - Questions to prepare for the speaking exam

Spanish AS 2016 - Questions to prepare for the speaking exam

This is a 17-pages workbook I have created for my Year 12 students this year according to the new exam and specification given by Edexcel. Having a look at the sample materials, I have realised the way they ask questions have changed a little bit. They are not asked their opinion on something irrelevant, it is always something to do with the Spanish or Latin American cultures. For example, they are not asked "Do you like music?" but "What do you think about Spanish music?". Following this I have created this booklet which includes questions on all topics and a brief explanation of the exam.
