Spanish KS3 GCSE holidays preterite past tense las vacaciones preterite reading writing

A stand alone lesson to introduce the topic of holidays using some key past tense verbs. The resources (a PowerPoint and Worksheet) will guide pupils to be able to talk about their holidays in the past tense by the end of the lesson. The key verbs are introduced and pupils do activities to recognise and memorise these. These are then used in a reading so pupils can start to see how they work. Pupils are then introduced to the rules for -AR verb conjugation and have an opportunity to practise key verbs for the topic, with all subject pronouns. The plenary brings all of this together by asking pupils to write/ say a paragraph based on the visual information on a slide. They can then use this as a model for their own work. There is also a plenary reading comprehension task with a gap-fill activity and this can then be used by pupils to model their own answer on.

SPANISH VERBS (2) - PRACTICE & REVISION - 99 VERBS

SPANISH VERBS (2) - PRACTICE & REVISION - 99 VERBS

PERFECT FOR PRACTISING AND REVISING ESSENTIAL SPANISH VERBS!This set of games and activities featuring 99 high-frequency SPANISH verbs offers an interactive and communicative alternative to 'traditional' vocabulary and grammar drilling activities, and really does help to create a lively and multi-skill language learning environment. The SPANISH-English alphabetical reference list of all 99 verbs works well as a learning support resource. The cards are versatile, and can be used for a number of language learning games; I’ve described several games you can play and ways you can use them in the classroom. They're great for a ready-made quick vocab quiz too! The game card template lets your students put their knowledge of SPANISH verbs to the test as they create cards for each other - preferably from memory! There are three differentiated RECALL AND WRITE ACTIVITIES:CHILLOUT CHALLENGE Students recall and write all the verbs in English from a SPANISH prompt - the SPANISH verbs are in alphabetical orderCHAMPION CHALLENGEStudents recall and write all the verbs in English from a SPANISH prompt, with the verbs appearing in random, rather than alphabetical orderSUPERCHARGED CHALLENGEStudents recall and write all the verbs in SPANISH from an English prompt - this really does put their knowledge to the test - and is great for practising spelling in SPANISH too.I've classed the set as suitable for ages 14-18, but it really does depend on when your students began SPANISH, the level they are currently working at, and the level they are aspiring to. The games and activities are particularly useful as students prepare for examinations, and for the transition period between learning stages. The REFERENCE, RECALL AND WRITE booklet has 18 pages, and is best photocopied double-sided as a workbook for students to work through either in direct class time, or as independent learning at home. Laminating is certainly worth the effort and expense - you will be able to re-use the cards for years to come. I've created several sets of SPANISH verb games and activities, each featuring different sets of verbs - they work well as complementary learning resources, and build up a comprehensive bank of essential SPANISH verbs for your students. SETS 1 and 2, featuring 198 essential SPANISH verbs, is also available as a combined resource at the special price of £5.00 - have a look at it here:https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/spanish-verbs-1-and-2-practice-and-revision-198-essential-verbs-11569162There are 2 non-editable files in a zipped format: the game cards and the REFERENCE, RECALL AND WRITE BOOKLET. Please read the TERMS OF USE carefully: the resource is copyright, and for single-classroom use only.¡MUCHAS GRACIAS Y QUE OS DIVIRTÁIS!

Spanish -ar verbs conjugation card race - revision of all tenses

Spanish -ar verbs conjugation card race - revision of all tenses

This is another of my verb card races. You need to print off some sets of the cards, cut them out and laminate them. Pupils then race each other to pick up the cards to match what they see on the screen. I have mine move their cards to an answer board to stop them from copying others and then you can award points to whoever has the right cards on display. It encourages a good sense of competition, can be used again and again, and makes verb drills fun. (Requires knowledge of present, preterite, near future, future and imperfect tenses)
