Viva GCSE Module 2 ¿Qué tal los estudios?

Viva GCSE Module 2 ¿Qué tal los estudios?

Lesson and vocabulary sheet based on the new Viva GCSE AQA Spanish textbook - Module 2 Mi vida en el insti - ¿Qué tal los estudios? This unit covers school subjects, teachers, comparatives and superlatives. The lesson includes exercises from the textbook alongside some activities that I have also added - explanation of comparatives and superlatives with exercises for practice, spontaneous speech task, antonym activity and a dice game for recapping the unit. There is a PowerPoint which has descriptions and timings of each activity under each slide - it is all set up so that you can just open it and teach.Included is also a vocabulary match up sheet so that students can refer to this throughout the lesson for support. Also included is an activity for matching up antonyms as these feature in the unit and are also useful for knowing in preparation for exams.I have created a dice game plenary that recaps the vocabulary from the lesson whilst also getting students to verbally and spontaneously translate words/phrases from the unit. Our lessons our 100 minutes long so there is a lot of content in the PowerPoint - possibly enough for two hour long lessons.

El Colegio GCSE 9-1- School - Spanish Revision Tasks (Year 10/11 AQA Spec)

El Colegio GCSE 9-1- School - Spanish Revision Tasks (Year 10/11 AQA Spec)

Sometimes I find it difficult to give students revision tasks that will not require large amounts of printing and marking on my behalf. To overcome this I have recently tried this concept with my Year 10 group to help revise for their upcoming school assessments.Students have a sheet full of revision tasks. The tasks are divided into 3 groups and each group equates to set amount of time they should spend on a given task. The tasks vary from self assessing to peer assessing to resources they can create and use themselves in future. I have attached both .pdf and .doc for your editing needs.Claddagh Classrooms

Me and School Controlled Assessment Emergency Helpsheet

Me and School Controlled Assessment Emergency Helpsheet

I designed this to help those last minute re-sits that need to prepare quickly and independently. It is vocabulary and sentence starters, and should enable students to obtain a high grade B if they can remember accurately. Or they could keep it simple and go for a solid C.

School - my school subjects, when I have them and how I am doing in them

School - my school subjects, when I have them and how I am doing in them

Say which subjects you have, you study ... today, on Mondays etc. Say whether you are good or bad at them; practise using conjunctions ‘porque, sin embargo, no obstante, además’; guess the meaning of ‘según’; use ‘y’ or ‘e’ correctly to express ‘and’; develop reading comprehension by completing gap fill tasks. Improve vocabulary through listening and complete assessment tasks to gauge progress. A translation task (with answers) to and from Spanish will help train students in this important GCSE skill. A puzzle sheet (with answers) provides a bit of fun while testing word order. The worksheets are well differentiated and designed to help students increase their confidence in using and understanding a range of key vocabulary and structures. There is also a vocabulary grid to support the learning.Written by the author of Heinemann's Mira express 1 and 2 Resources and Assessment Grammar Sheets.

Spanish school mi instituto reading comprehension (description, facilities, subjects, opinions)

Spanish school mi instituto reading comprehension (description, facilities, subjects, opinions)

This is a reading comprehension to use with pupils as a plenary reading task at the end of a unit on school. Some key vocabulary is given in a match-up activity, then there is the text and two reading comprehension questions (one a comprehension in Spanish and two a true/false activity). This will revise all school vocabulary and introduce some new words. The comprehension is also good for revising interrogative words.

Spanish School Subjects - Las asignaturas

Spanish School Subjects - Las asignaturas

Spanish Powerpoint Tutorial and Worksheets abput school subjects. Pictures can be used for other languages. These resources are enough for at least 2 lessons, the match-up grid as a starter - one between two before they had even been presented with the vocabulary nearly all could recognise the cognates. The worksheet has a listening exercise which corresponds to the one in the book but note - it's just for practising pronunciation not to put in the right order as it seems on first glance!!
