Mechanics 1 (Edexcel) Revision

Here is my power point trying to structure questions for M1 from past papers. I have split the paper into 6 sections and tried to group questions together. For use by giving to pupils and leaving them to it, or working through topics as a class. Every question from 2006-present. Also works extremely well on iPads.

Extension - Centre of a triangle (revises median, perp bisector, altitude)

A Power Point presentation investigating the not-so-obvious question of where the centre of a triangle is. Useful to revise and motivate some of the line work in e.g. Higher MathsStarts with the centre of other shapes (e.g. circle - easy) before introducing the main candidates for the centre of a triangle. These are where the medians, perpendicular bisectors, and altitudes meet. But there are also many other centres. And what about quadrilaterals, or 3D shapes?

AQA Mechanics 2 Past paper questions organised by topic

I have put this together for my students. I wanted regular practice and exposure to exam questions and also wanted to have something for my more able students to get their teeth into, hence the killer question(s) at the back of each homework sheet. We refer to the revision poster during our teaching, paying particular attention to the formulae and checklist associated with each topic. I give out the individual worksheets as homework to gauge their understanding and will give them the full booklet to aid their revision in the Summer term.Let me know how you intend to use it and how well received it has been please, I'm always keen to hear from others. Have you added to/amended my checklist? Please inform me through twitter, @billyads_47

M1 Revision Clock

This is a revision activity for Edexcel M1 based on the ideas shared on Jo Morgan's brilliant website http://www.resourceaholic.com/. This was originally shared here http://justmaths.co.uk/2015/10/18/keeping-time/.This activity could be used to help improve students' timing by giving them 5 minutes for each of the 12 questions, to improve memory, or simply to produce a visual revision resource. Each student should be given an A3 copy of the clock with a set of questions. Answers are provided.

AQA Mechanics 2 revision techniques

Have written this to assist my year 13s when answering past papers. I am trying to instil the correct techniques used for each type of question in order to assist students gaining method marks on the questions where they have 'no idea' what the examiner is asking. This really is my first draft, written to share and improve. My students haven't seen it yet. I have sent it to be colour copied onto A3 and we will discuss and edit it on Thursday. Please let me know your thoughts and how you have improved this to benefit your students. Best to contact me through Twitter, @billyads_47.
