lesson presentations for all topics of unit C3 A level Mathematics. All powerpoints include in-depth information and diagrams with lesson activities.

Presentations that show students how to use conservation of momentum and coefficient of restitution to solve both 1 Dimensional and 2 Dimensional problems. Also included is a presentation about impulseSMART Notebook Express presentations can be used for free by using SMART online or by downloading SMART software, also free, I use it because it allows a more interactive presentation than a powerpoint. Just search 'SMART Notebook Express' and try it with my free SMART resource.

Lesson 1 on momentum

Here is my power point trying to structure questions for M1 from past papers. I have split the paper into 6 sections and tried to group questions together. For use by giving to pupils and leaving them to it, or working through topics as a class. Every question from 2006-present. Also works extremely well on iPads.

Conservation of momentum

HW sheet once students understand principals of momentum & impulse

An introduction to the concept of momentum with formula and examples to fill in

Notes with formula and examples to fill in on the change in momentum

Worked examples and information on the topic of Momentum

Treasure hunt to revise Edexcel M1

Car pile up scenario. Pupils have to calculate the momentum of each vehicle, followed by the change in momentum, to calculate impact force. Finally, they have to use the numbers to conclude which driver would have come out worse off. Answers provided.

All the past paper questions from the Delphis practice papers. There are 10 papers, each having 7 questions. Questions are sorted by both paper and topic.Topics covered include:ProjectilesCircular MotionWork, Energy and PowerMomentsCentre of MassImpulse and RestitutionFor more revision resources, visit www.ParkerMaths,comPlease note: This PowerPoint contains too many links for me to check them all individually. If you find any mistakes, please email admin@parkermaths.com and I'll try to correct them.

Worked example using Mechanics with a gap for the students to draw the force diagram

Given a low friction set of apparatus consisting of: a track, two carts, masses and if possible a speed/distance/time data logger. Our science department had all this stuff. Get students to explore the different thing and then use the second sheet for them to draw and explain what they have learnt in different situations.

This is a revision activity for Edexcel M1 based on the ideas shared on Jo Morgan's brilliant website http://www.resourceaholic.com/. This was originally shared here http://justmaths.co.uk/2015/10/18/keeping-time/.This activity could be used to help improve students' timing by giving them 5 minutes for each of the 12 questions, to improve memory, or simply to produce a visual revision resource. Each student should be given an A3 copy of the clock with a set of questions. Answers are provided.

Formula and worked examples as to the concept and the links between impulse and momentum

M1 assignments consisting of recent past-paper questions. Given as revision after each topic. Answers are given at the top of each question for students reference.
