#### Hypothesis Test for a Population Mean - Analogy to a Criminal Trial

This is a student workbook that can supplement lessons on hypothesis tests for a population mean. I teach the stages of hypothesis testing using analogies to a criminal trial. My students like this comparison; they are more engaged and it helps them to see the relevance of the different stages. Once students are confident with the terminology, we create our own courtroom in the classroom and role-play the stages of hypothesis testing with students acting as the jury, prosecution, judge and defence.Contents of the workbook1. A summary of the 5 stages of hypothesis testing2. A detailed analogy to a criminal trial3. One worked example4. Space for students to complete their own examples.5. Worksheets on:a. the null and alternative hypothesisb. type I and type II errorsc. checking assumptionsd. sampling distributionse. the normal distributionf. the t-distributiong. interpreting p-valuesAnswers for worksheets provided in separate document. The preview file shows a selection of pages from the workbook.

#### A Level Biology- Stats

A collection of resources I have picked up and adapted along the way when teaching statistic elements of A Level Biology. These resources focus on Chi Squared and Students T Test. The stats booklet I refer to is an unedited version from another user which can be found via a TES search.

#### Statistics 2

This bundle includes all the topics needed to cover the S2 AQA course including; Discrete and Continuous Random Variables Poisson Distribution Estimation Hypothesis Testing Chi-squared

#### Poisson Distribution and Estimation using t-distribution

A presentation that explains to the students what the Poisson distribution is and how to solve a range of problems using the Poisson distribution. This includes the graphs of Poisson distributions as well as the mean, variance and standard deviation.A presentation that introduces the t-distribution and how it is used for samples below a size of 30. It shows the students how to use the standard tables to find confidence intervals using t-distribution.SMART Notebook Express presentations can be used for free by using SMART online or by downloading SMART software, also free, I use it because it allows a more interactive presentation than a powerpoint. Just search 'SMART Notebook Express' and try it with my free SMART resource.

#### Higher Statistics Module (SCQF Level 6) - Course Notes

These are extensive notes that I have made to teach this SQA Course. There are 49 pages including many example questions and follow ups on Excel. Also includes a course outline, essential exam skills and a practice exam with solutions.

#### Higher Statistics Module (SCQF Level 6) - Extended Notes

These notes complement my Course Notes for this SQA course. They include more further examples, more complicated statistical tests and links to Excel for examples.

#### Higher Statistics Module (SCQF Level 6) - Hypothesis Tests and Experiments

Extra resources for this SQA course:- a guide to conducting six experiments and some example data- a guide to hypothesis tests including Excel spreadsheets to work on- some example experimental data and the output of applying statistical tests to it

#### Edexcel Statistics S1 - Revision Papers

These are compilation of exam questions as revision papers.

#### Statistics Tables Test - S2 looking up tables

Give your A level students a tables test! How quickly and accurately can they find the correct values from the statistical tables? Covers Poisson, Chi-squared and critical values for hypothesis testing with the normal distribution and Student's t-distribution.Presented in simple, no-frills ppt format.
