Cash for questions revision activity

There are 4 sets of questions (Number, Algebra, Shape, Data) which are mainly A and A* (with some lower grade questions from topics which students struggle with, e.g. percentages, constructions). PLEASE REVIEW / COMMENT. Students work in pairs or small groups to answer the questions. When they finish a question they get it marked and if it is correct they are given cash to the value of the question. There are bank notes which you can put your school name and pictures of your teachers on. The team with the most money at the end could be given a prize.

Algebra: Linear Graphs (Equations, Gradients, Problems) Bundle - 4 Lesson perfect for KS3

This is a four lesson teaching series looking at all the different aspects of linear graphs. This is generally a topic that is done very poorly in exams and one that pupils especially at KS3 struggle with. These lessons are designed for pupils at KS3. With weaker groups I tend to repeat lesson 2 twice (additional worksheet provided), but will not lower the challenge to help them understand properly! 1. Linear Graphs - Introduction2. Linear Graphs - Finding the equation of the Line3. Linear Graphs - Finding the gradient4. Linear Graphs - Further and ProblemsI reviewed this subject after one of my past year 8 group struggled on this profoundly and I think now in terms of pedagogy this is now one of my most organised, structured and effective teaching topics. Four lessons for some might feel a lot, but it is worth taking the time to really get to grips with this topic, especially considering it's understanding is still important at KS4 and KS5 maths. All lessons in this series include starters, lesson objectives, key words, very clear teaching examples, use of MWB, questions or worksheet with answers and plenaries. It also includes BLANK AXIS for questions so that pupils don't spend five minutes drawing axis's. NOTE: Feel free to browse my shop for more excellent free and premium resources, and as always please rate and feedback, thanks.

This lesson recaps basic factorising inc difference of two squares ect. There is then a RAG task on solving a quadratic by factorising and includes varying tasks such as rearranging ect to really get the pupils thinking. It also links in algebra with shape and have reasoning and problem solving questions which are suitable for the new curriculum. All tasks are differentiated to at least 3 levels. There are reasoning and problem solving tasks which are suitable for the new curriculum. All tasks have solutions so that it is easy for the pupils to mark their work. This has been used and allowed pupils to master the skill and for the more able to develop their understanding

A series of lessons (2-3) on using the quadratic formula to solve a quadratic. It introduces the formula and has a RAG task on using this formula to a basic quadratic, ones where some rearrangement is needed and moves onto shape problems. There are also reverse problems in which pupils would need to find the values of a,b and c.All tasks are differentiated to at least 3 levels. There are reasoning and problem solving tasks which are suitable for the new curriculum. All tasks have solutions so that it is easy for the pupils to mark their work. This has been used and allowed pupils to master the skill and for the more able to develop their understanding
