Cash for questions revision activity

Cash for questions revision activity

There are 4 sets of questions (Number, Algebra, Shape, Data) which are mainly A and A* (with some lower grade questions from topics which students struggle with, e.g. percentages, constructions). PLEASE REVIEW / COMMENT. Students work in pairs or small groups to answer the questions. When they finish a question they get it marked and if it is correct they are given cash to the value of the question. There are bank notes which you can put your school name and pictures of your teachers on. The team with the most money at the end could be given a prize.

Solving Equations Sum Pyramid (unknowns on both sides) SELF MARKING

Solving Equations Sum Pyramid (unknowns on both sides) SELF MARKING

Resource aimed at KS3/KS4 students or high ability KS2 students studying how to solve equations with unknowns on both sidesThe first page of the resource is a student worksheet designed for pupils to stick in correct answers. The second page contains 2 versions of the card set (for ease of photocopying).Pupils should cut out the cards with equations on and firstly stick the top line of equations to the top line of the pyramid on their worksheet (match correct letters to the ones on the top corner of the pyramid). The activity aims to build a correct "number pyramid" where the answer to each question should be the sum of the two above it. Once the first line of equations are solved, pupils can add together the answers to work out what answers they are looking to stick on the next row. The can continue in this manner until they have found which equation should fit on the bottom of the pyramid.
