A game that can be played in pairs, threes or independently. Please note that this game focuses on times tables facts from 2 to 10 to ensure children are confident in these tables before progressing to the 11s and 12s, which will need to be taught subsequently.Children need a 'Table Splat' mat and counters (different coloured counters for each child). Children take turns to turn over a card, revealing a times tables question. The child who is the first to place their counter on the correct answer (whilst shouting 'SPLAT!') can leave their counter on the board. The winner is the player with the most counters on the board once all of the times table cards have been used.Differentiate by choosing the multiplication cards relevant for that child, depending on which times table they are currently working on. *Update: 6s and 9s have been underlined, to avoid confusion.*Save money when bought as part of a bundle. This resource consists of a cross-number puzzle whose solution involves the calculation of hexagonal numbers. Geometric diagrams are given for the first few hexagonal numbers. Students will then have to devise methods to calculate larger such numbers. The Teachers Guide outlines three possible investigative approaches to these calculations. One involves generalising using the given geometric patterns. The other two approaches involve investigating numerical patterns which then leads to the construction of a nth term formula. One is through patterns in a difference table and the other involves patterns in the numerical factors of the hexagonal numbers. The answers to the puzzle clues are also given in the Teachers Guide.

A flip chart and SATS style question paper based on the arithmetic paper (paper 1) . Created by a year six teacher (89% maths at and above expected pass rate last year), maths coordinator and deputy head. Used on the afternoon before the 2016 maths SATS tests and updated in 2017. The flip chart allows the teacher to model the mathematics concept with a SATS style question and then gives the pupil the opportunity to use and apply what they have just seen. This is designed specifically for revision purposes as I have found my class sometimes fail to retain certain mathematical methods or struggle to use what they know to figure out what they don't. THIS IS AN ACTIVINSPIRE FLIP CHART

Topics covered are:
Arithmetic (Paper 1) - addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of 2 digit - 6 digit numbers, decimals, fractions and BODMAS
Maths reasoning (Paper 2 and Paper 3) - problem solving involving multiplication and division; problems involving fractions and decimals (sequencing and converting and calculating fractions of quantities ) problems involving measures and conversion.
Each session ends with AfL work drawn from the 2016 SATs papers.
Each session is supported by presentations for Smartboard and for Promethean, worked examples in the form of You Tube clips for your own use or with your class and 4 way differentiated independent activities.

Moves on to understanding prime numbers and what they are. Followed by prime factor trees (prime factor decomposition). This leads into using prime factors to calculate the HCF and LCM using Venn Diagrams.

A clear and straightforward Notebook file to explain what these indices represent. Can be used in conjunction with GCSE textbook or suitable worksheet although there are plenty of examples on screen

Six no prep activities to review 5th grade math. The following topics are reviewed: Equivalent Fractions, Operations Practice, Order of Operations without exponents, Compare Decimals, Prime and Composite, Graphing in 1st Quadrant. This is perfect right before spring break, for the end of the year, or the beginning of 6th grade. All you need to do is print and copy. Answer keys are included.

The topic comes as 4/5 lesson bundle at a reduction. I normally teach it as a sequence of lessons in the following order (obviously dependent on the group).
