Basic Math Game "The penguin wants to eat"

Basic Math Game "The penguin wants to eat"

Here you have a material to work the numbers. They are two PDF files. The first four sheets of the first file contain the game "the penguin wants to eat" consisting of a small box where there is a penguin that is very hungry! You will also find a lot of fishes, cards with the numbers from 1 to 20 and + - =. There are also two pans and a tray. The game consists of feeding the penguin. This game will help your students learn to count, start on addition and subtraction and also have lots of fun.Step 1. Let's prepare the game.To prepare the game to be used you must print in color, I recommend you in cardboard, and cut out all the elements (fishes, cards, frying pan, tray and the box where the penguin is) Then you must assemble the box with glue, remember not to paste the box above (to be able to take fishes out).I recommend you laminate everything before playing, so it will last you much longer.NOTE: Before assembling the box with a cutter you must cut a rectangle in the beak of the penguin to be able to put the fishes in.Step 2. Let’s playHere are some ideas to useThe first activity I propose is:- Feed the penguin, just let your youngest pupils feed it, prepare the fishes in the pan, serve it on the tray and feed it!-To count, we learn the numbers from 1 to 10.You place a card with a number (you can start with the numbers from 1 to 5)And you ask the child to count and place the fish in the pan to fry them, when they are ready puts them in the tray and then give them to the penguin.-Let’s learn to add.Place two cards and the sign + between them and the = at the endPut the two pans underneath and ask your students to put in each pan the number of fish that is asked on the cards. When they are ready you have to place them on the tray, count them and search the card with the right answer. Then feed the penguin.-Let’s learn to subtractYou put the tray in front of the child and many fish.An example: You ask him to put 5 fish in the tray, and look for the card with the number 5, now you explain that the penguin is going to eat 2 fish, look for the card with - and the card with the number 2 and = Feed the two fish and then re-count and l search the card with the right answer. These are just some ideas but you can use it in many more ways. This package also includes two visual mats to help students do the maths (Addition). The idea is to laminate and use a water based marker, so you can erase and erase. A fun way to practice! Also includes 10 visual mats to help students to understand sustraction. Laminate and reuse, and reuse and reuse! Also Black & White Worksheets. Print as many you need. Thanks for stopping by!

Multiplication Single Digit Tic Tac Toe Games (taken to another level)

Multiplication Single Digit Tic Tac Toe Games (taken to another level)

DIRECTIONS: Two players take turns choosing a problem and giving the answer. If the answer is correct, the player gets to put an X or an O in the box. Three X's or three O's in a row wins the game. Each individual game is played below and whichever player wins that game gets to place their X or their O over the entire game. Again 3 X's or 3 O's in a row wins the entire matchVersion 1: (easier for younger players) Players play each individual game and whoever gets 3 x’s or 3 o’s in a row on the big board (by winning the smaller games) wins the entire match.Version 2: (more challenging, requiring more strategy) Players can choose a problem on ANY square on the entire board and play continues until all games have been won or tied. Ties can either count as a win for both players (to give someone a better chance of winning on the larger game or they can count for neither player which makes it more likely that no one wins the larger game).
