The StressFreeClassroom - an audio guide to dealing with classroom stress.

The StressFreeClassroom - an audio guide to dealing with classroom stress.

Hi. Steve here.I wrote and recorded this program for you if you're a stressed teacher. You're fed up, like I was, with the downsides of teaching. Dealing with toxic combinations of work-load, observation, scrutiny and feeling undervalued. It all made me want to scream 'ESCAPE!'I tried reorganising and reprioritising. I tried relaxing with meditation tapes and beach holidays. But the feelings crept back.Tired of waiting for change, I finally did something about it all. After all, this was my life.I finally quit teaching!Yet that wasn't the end of the story. Now I say: there is hope for a rewarding classroom experience, and it's not been your fault. In this program is the equipment for your effective career transformation.Because as I learnt, after teaching and leading for over 15 years in a huge variety of locations and types of school, none of this experience or professional development was ever enough to know what to do about feeling so *&"%.Driven to investigate - and invest in myself - I studied all kinds of practice and psychology including the latest in Neuro-Linguistic-Programming, Direct Instruction, Discovery Learning and Human Needs Psychology™. I read books, listened to top thinkers, attended expensive training and tried new technologies: like binaural beat meditation. Some shocking discoveries were made: it's disturbing that we aren't properly educated about, or trained to successfully deal with classroom stress.Firstly, we must move out of 'industrial age' classroom thinking. As what we do is 80% psychology, I created - by applying and combining certain techniques - the most simple, valuable and practical thought-tools specifically designed for helping you: the teacher. It's all in The Stress-Free Classroom and because of it, I'm back teaching. I use it all - Every.Single.Day.Of-course you don’t need to be a trained psychologist or doctor to benefit and this program is in no way a substitute for professional help.Still, you can apply each step-by-step technique any time you need it, on the spot, and eliminate stress in under 30 seconds. My health, my teaching - my livelihood - was on the line; this program is written with yours in mind. You get the best of the best education in an instantly accessible, high-density, no fluff 50 minutes of listen-anywhere-mp3 in your life. It's less time than an episode of The Walking Dead, (which is exactly how I felt).(Some people have found they want to listen to it a second or third time to take it all in).Enough is enough. Just do it. All questions welcomed, and please let me know how you grow. To your strength and success. Steve.

NPQSL - Combined Task (Full Project including additional resources)

This is my completed write-up of my project for my NPQSL. I have also included the sponsor's comments and my additional resources I used as evidence in my project. This provides you with a good example of the balance between how much evidence needs to be written, and the types of evidence you can upload to demonstrate you have successfully met the competencies. At assessment, the sponsor's comments play an equally important part. I have included my sponsor's comments in this document.Updated as of 24/8/16 - I have now also included the feedback form from the external assessor. All projects are sent off for a pass/fail assessment, and I passed all of the competencies at first time of asking. Feedback form attached.I thoroughly enjoyed the course, and would be happy to answer any questions anybody has. I can be contacted on jamieb18@hotmail.com.

Teacher Curriculum Vitae template

Teacher Curriculum Vitae template

Modern, eye catching and creative teacher CV template. I conducted a significant amount of research on how to make the most effective CV for a teacher and would therefore like to share the design template with others. UK schools generally do not require a CV in this modern day, however anyone wishing to teach internationally will know this is a necessity. And, an old, disorganised and unattractive CV may cost you the Head Teacher's attention and consequently gaining an interview. I have left the majority of my own CV content on the template for people to use, edit or generate ideas for themselves to write. ** Two schools in Dubai in 2014 complimented me during my interview regarding how 'eyecatching and modern' my CV was which influenced their decision heavily to offer me an interview. **

Personal Statement for Assistant Headteacher for Teaching, Learning and Curriculum FOR ADULTS

Personal Statement for Assistant Headteacher for Teaching, Learning and Curriculum FOR ADULTS

This is my own personal statement for the position of Assistant Headteacher for Teaching, Learning and Curriculum - a job which I got.Being able to download someone else's personal statement while writing mine, would have been a huge help. Therefore, I thought offering mine, would give practitioners an option to view one before they start writing their own and thus having new ideas and a clear structure. Obviously, every personal statement should be tailored to the person specification but it is easy to use ideas from this personal statement and shuffle them around accordingly. I have removed specific names from the personal statement and instead typed, XXX.

How to move from Passive to Active Learning

How to move from Passive to Active Learning

This is a CPD resource aimed at moves to more active learning in lessons. It assumes that teachers cannot simply write new schemes of learning every year, but what they can do is make exciting tweaks to certain areas of their lessons to inject the right pitch and pace to support progress. This comes with a guide on how to implant activities into existing learning so that areas of content are more engaging for pupils. It also comes with an informal coaching style lesson observation and exemplar.

“What have you done at school today?” Using Technology to Communicate with Parents.

“What have you done at school today?” Using Technology to Communicate with Parents. How does your school communicate with stakeholders? How often do you do it? When is the best time to do it? All things we've considered at school and questions that we hoped we've answered, but we're always evolving and so are methods of communication.Whether it is a detailed newsletter each week or regular updates on Twitter and Facebook, letting your parents' know what is going on in schools is essential in our modern and busy world. As parents we tend to ask our children what they've done at school when they get home - the classic answer "I don't know, I can't remember." So how do we help parents get their children talking at home about their learning?Getting the children engaged in talking about something they've done in school can help them further understand a concept or to tackle any misconceptions that they've got around a certain subject. Parents want to know.
