Tour de France Vocabulary Puzzle with QR code 2017

Tour de France Vocabulary Puzzle with QR code 2017

A set of fun and engaging Tour de France Vocabulary jigsaw puzzles. These puzzles help students master the vocabulary in the Tour de France. Students match the correct word with the corresponding meaning to solve the puzzle. When the students complete the puzzle pieces they can capture the QR code included on each card to enable them to self mark. This means there are less questions for the teacher and we can focus on our teaching without interruptions. To use the cards, all the teacher needs to do is print them off, laminate and cut out the jigsaw pieces and you are ready to go. Enjoy.

Tour de France: design your own jersey

Tour de France: design your own jersey

Pupils design their own Tour de France jersey and then use the vocabulary provided to describe it eg. 'C'est un maillot multicolore à slogan. Tu portes ce maillot avec un short ou un jogging. N'oublie pas d'ajouter des lunettes de soleil et un bandeau.' This activity is great for pupils who aren't particularly interested on the sporting event to engage in something more creative and use language effectively to describe their design. Other Tour de France activities include a free video, a board game and some colouring sheets.

French Board Game: Tour de France (plus free video)

French Board Game: Tour de France (plus free video)

A fun and cultural activity for the summer term. 2 versions of this tour of France which replicates the 2017 route. Pupils start in Dusseldorf and finish in Paris. The simple version is simply a race to get to the Arc de Triomphe the fastest, the second version requires pupils to move backwards and forwards several spaces if they land on a hilly or mountainous stage. I have included mini certificates/medals in the shape of a jersey. 1st place is yellow, 2nd green, 3rd spotty and 4th white. There is also a sheets of mini jerseys in many colours which you may wish to use as counters. I must stress that this game requires no use of French but it will be perfect for teachers planning to do a cultural lesson on the Tour de France. All you need to provide is the dice and you can sit back and watch the pupils work independently, collaboratively and competitively. any other board games available, just scroll through my shop or search 'French Board Games' and look for Betsy Belle products. Thank you for your purchase!

Research project (Motivational triggers) for KS3 French - Vive le sport!

Research project (Motivational triggers) for KS3 French - Vive le sport!

This is a research project lesson (or two lessons really) that I created for my year 7 French students. The writing example can be easily adapted if more structures are to be added. The idea is to promote independent learning via research. Students have to research information about a sports team and create a poster. After that they have to produce a piece of writing to express their opinion on that team. Students decide on the task, the roles and start researching relevant information using their iPads (one of the students needs to summarise the information that others found). The whole process takes about 2 lessons and is perfect for the end of the topic as you can incorporate all of the structures / vocabulary learned during the term!

Introductory quiz for French lessons, ready for immediate use, with variety of topics.

This is a quiz with may rounds and varieties of questions including: *True or False - Celebrities born in France *Pet translations *English TV in France *Paris *French Football Teams plus many other questions about the history, geography and other contextual, interesting facts about France. The quiz takes on bell model, starting with easier questions moving on to more challenging questions before finishing with easier ones again so that all students are able to participate and maintain interest until the end. Many questions have additional information attached to explain and provide further reference points. Some questions are asked in English with English answers, some are asked in French with English answers and some asked in French with French answers. This would be ideal as an introduction to French, as a starter for a lesson or for a fun lesson at the end of term. Any and all feedback, positive or developmental is greatly appreciated.
