I HAVE, WHO HAS? is a great language learning game. The repetitive nature of the questions and answers, supported by the visual prompt of the clock faces, makes it perfect for practising, reinforcing and refreshing how to tell the time in SPANISH. It’s a whole-group communicative game, with a multi-skill focus on speaking, listening, reading, vocabulary-building and developing accurate pronunciation. The game really does help to create a lively language learning environment, and is a great alternative to more traditional 'drilling' activities.
There are two games, each with a different challenge:
CHILLOUT CHALLENGE - with the clock times in numerical order
CHAMPION CHALLENGE - with the clock times in topsy-turvy order, which really does encourage students to focus on how to tell the time in SPANISH!
DINKY SPANISH TELLING THE TIME DIFFERENTIATED DOMINOES GAMES will help your students develop their skill in telling the time in SPANISH in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, learning independently of the teacher. The games are ideal for independent learning, and perfect for pair and small-group work. Play as warmers, starters and plenaries across the whole school year. Playing against a timer in teams works really well too.
There are three games and three levels of challenge:
GAME 1: CHILLOUT CHALLENGE features the analogue times in numerical order, 1 — 12
GAME 2: CHAMPION CHALLENGE features all the times in topsy-turvy order, which really gets students thinking about how to tell the time in SPANISH
GAME 3: SUPER-CHARGED CHALLENGE features all the times in topsy-turvy order, with the clock faces first, so students really do need to know how to tell the time in SPANISH to complete the domino sequence in record time!
The games feature analogue clock times, 1-12, including midday and midnight, with o'clock, half past, a quarter to and a quarter past the hour. I've classed the games as suitable for ages 7-14, because it really does depend on the age at which your students begin their SPANISH, the language themes and concepts they're currently working on, and what areas of learning they might need to focus on during revision periods.
The resource itself consists of three, non-editable files in a zipped format. The I HAVE, WHO HAS and the DOMINOES GAMES are also available separately if you prefer, priced at £3 and £2.50.
