Grade 9 Biology midterm exam

This exam is a midterm assessment I produced for my grade 9 Biology class. The questions are varied in type and difficulty. Most questions are illustrated with diagrams. The questions are based on the UK Double award GCSE Biology syllabus, but are similar in content to other courses. Topics covered: Characteristics of living organisms Cell Structure Movement in and out of cells Enzymes Nutrients Plant nutrition Animal nutrition Transport in plants Transport in animals Aerobic and Anaerobic respiration Gas exchange. Suggested exam length is 55 mins-1 hours. You may wish to alter this depending on your students reading level. The mark scheme is attached to the end of the exam.

FLIPPED LEARNING: Pathogens and Transmission

This is a full flipped learning lesson plan with all accompanying resources included (or linked to if they are online). The worksheet provides the quick link to the Science Sauce website where the self-study materials are found, and the Teacher sheet contains a full lesson instructions. WHAT IS FLIPPED LEARNING? Flipped learning requires students to learn the main content before class (often via an online video) and then do the "homework" in class with the teacher's support.
