*FULL LESSON* How do PET influence research in A-Level Sociology? Methods in Context

There are other tasks in the lesson which are linked to FOUR METHODS: Questionnaires | Structured Interviews | Unstructured Interviews | Official Stats . A 9-page booklet is included which allow students to thoroughly analyse the strengths and limitations of each method. AQA GCSE Sociology (4190) Sociology of Education full unit of work with extra resources

AQA GCSE Sociology (4190) Sociology of Education full unit of work with extra resources

A full unit of work for AQA GCSE Sociology- Sociology of Education. I taught this module in 2013, so there may be tweaks required to fit in with the new specification. Included is an 87 slide powerpoint which provides an introduction to sociology (slides explaining why study sociology and why it is useful) and an introduction to the course, as well as 12 lessons which are to be used in conjunction with 'AQA Sociology' by Coates, Gilpin, Owens and Woodfield (Nelson Thornes). You will need this text book as it follows each chapter and uses the exercises in the book. Included also are the resources (worksheets and puzzles) which go with each lesson, as well as some extra bits on the research methods part of the topic and a mini research methods project that I did with my students. I have removed some links to clips but you can easily find things online. One lesson includes an old video we watched (which is very dated, so you may be able to find something more appropriate). Also included is a 65 slide 'spaced learning' revision powerpoint, slides 2-22 covering the knowledge on the topic of education. Slides 24-44 are the recall slides, where students try and recall the knowledge they have learnt in slides 2-22 and finally slides 46-65 enable students to demonstrate their understanding of slides 2-22. With each set of slides less information is supplied to test students knowledge and understanding.I used this unit of work with a mixed ability class.

Social Stratification - GCSE Sociology

Social Stratification - GCSE Sociology

This lesson is an observable lesson in social stratification; looking at areas of gender, age, ethnicity and class. The lesson assumes a basic level of sociology is already obtained by pupils - e.g. socialisation, society etc. The worksheets are included, one of which is a differentiated sheet to help structure the notes for those that struggle with writing. Stretch and Challenge is included within the lesson, along with 'creativity across the curriculum' - which can help hit some targets. The lesson will track progress throughout, there is an examination style question with a mark scheme at the end which can be gone through orally. The lesson is fully customisable to timings and could also have some tasks/content added in to suit the needs of the learner. Please comment and rate if you like it. Thanks.

Introduction to Social Inequality - Sociology GCSE

Introduction to Social Inequality - Sociology GCSE

Sociology GCSE - Social Inequality This is a full lesson on the beginning of the social inequality topic. It covers the sociological perspectives and also identifies social class classification scale. By the end of the lesson, students will understand these topics. I personally used this for an observation lesson and was only required to add more stretch & challenge - to do this, I suggest using an A Level text book or a sociological journal on the topic area. Naturally, I couldn't include that in this lesson. The full lesson, with worksheets and information sheets have been included. Please feel free to rate and comment.
