'How to Become a Successful TES Author - Step by Step Guide' - A 'Must Have' For Authors!

'How to Become a Successful TES Author - Step by Step Guide' - A 'Must Have' For Authors!

I began to produce educational resources for TES in August 2015. When I look back at my early resources I cringe! I made so many mistakes…. Since then I have come a long way and learned so much. I currently have 38 TES recommended resources. One of my resources made over 900 sales in the space of a few weeks and earned nearly £2000 in royalties. I have recently been shortlisted as one of eight nominees for the TES 2017, Bev Evans, Author of the Year Award. In this 26-page, step by step guide I share my mistakes and my successes to help you avoid making the same mistakes and to become a successful author sooner than you would have done without this guide. I do not claim to have all the answers and ‘my way’ might not be other people’s way. However, whether you are a potential author, an author starting out or already an author; I am sure that this guide can help you in some way and will prove a worthwhile investment. The guide includes advice on Making resourcesMaximising the selling potential of resourcesCreating a cover pageSourcing imagesCopyrighting your resourcesPricing your resourcesProduct DescriptionsHTML codes for creating bold, italics, underlining, bullet pints and numbered lists for product description pageAdding links to other products and your shop in descriptionsCreating your TES shopBrandingIncreasing the visibility of your resourcesPromoting your products through social media platformsPromoting yourselfDealing with reviewsGeneral advice The resource also contains hyperlinks to some very useful sites and tools which will help you in making and promoting your products.Other Resources for AuthorsAuthor Calendar and Planner Nine out of ten of my top selling resources are seasonal resources and special days resources. Financial Awareness - KS1 & KS2 PSHE [Philosophy Boxes] Money, Saving, Not Wasting, Safety, Finances

Financial Awareness - KS1 & KS2 PSHE [Philosophy Boxes] Money, Saving, Not Wasting, Safety, Finances

The topic of this Philosophy Boxes download is 'Financial Awareness'. It is one of a series of Philosophy Boxes sessions designed, by request, for KS1-2 PSHE leaders (though it is also useful for KS3). You can save money by downloading the entire course of 20 sessions: which would constitute a significant part to your school's KS1/2 PSHE provision. The download comprises a P4C lesson/session that can be used multiple times with the same group. The Philosophy Boxes Method is a new approach to P4C designed for students in KS1, 2 & 3: it is graphically stimulating, engaging, and fun. This download is also suitable for older students: but the format was designed with younger students in mind. In this context: 'Philosophy Boxes' represents a more student-centred 'debate & discussion' approach to PSHE issues. The aim of Philosophy Boxes is to bring philosophy and critical thinking into every subject at every level: we believe that any subject becomes philosophy when students are asked the right questions and when they think about a topic hard enough and on the deepest (most fundamental) level. The Philosophy Boxes Method presents students with a set of 'mystery boxes', when a student selects one of the boxes they are presented with 1 of 21 discussion/debate activities [that use 1 of 8 different formats].The presentation has integrated AfL so that teachers can test knowledge at any point in the lesson. There are 10 different AfL slides to choose from. The design is colourful, animated, fun and engaging: all activities require movement and teachers can decide whether students are expressing their ideas purely verbally or by using post-it notes. The nature of the design is that it can be used for short sessions (5-10 minutes) or much longer sessions (up to 2 hours!) - it allows for classroom practitioners to be flexible and adaptable. It can, therefore, be used in lessons or as a tutor-time activity. The download includes a PowerPoint Show; if you would like an editable PPT presentation so that you can make your own 'Philosophy Boxes' presentation you will need to download the template here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/-the-philosophy-boxes-method-template-for-creating-your-own-philosophy-boxes-lessons-p4c-p4k-11463227A complete selection of Philosophy Boxes lessons can be found here: https://www.tes.com/resources/search/?&q=philosophy+boxes+godwin86You can also save money by purchasing lessons as bundles. This PSHE course is based around the topics listed on the BBC Bitesize Resources for KS1 & KS2 PSHE (their content can be used alongside these resources to bolster your PSHE provision, though this download does not require additional preparation or resources) [http://www.bbc.co.uk/education/subjects/zqtnvcw]

Risk assessment forms

Risk assessment forms

An overview risk assessment - daily ticklist of things to check for - which is done daily (funily enough!) - detailed explanaton of daily check explaining why we (well someone as some of it is caretaker) check for these things - activity specific blank sheet (this is prob the one that I do actually think we need and is good) which is filled in as and when you do something unusually risky, e.g. using shark knives to cut fruit or have a visit from a pet for the day etc The overview is adapted from one I downloaded on here so not my own work!
