10 Phrases Sur Moi! Je me présente!

10 Phrases Sur Moi! Je me présente!

This fun French activity helps primary school pupils introduce themselves. It is ideal as a back-to-school or end-of-year activity but it can be used at any time of the year. Pupils write 10 sentences about themselves - one sentence per finger onto the outline of a pair of hands. They then decorate. The completed art activity can then be used as a springboard to oral presentations. This is a lovely confidence-building activity. Finding ten things to say about themselves may seem like a daunting task but by using the included fill-in-the-blanks sentences, pupils are often surprised with how much French they know. This resource includes: - 25 fill-in-the-blanks French sentences & the English translation - the same 25 sentences with options to fill in the sentences & the English translation - 3 different pairs of hands outlines with fill-in-the-blanks sentences - a blank pair of hands outline - 3 sample completed pairs of hands outlines - Teacher Page - How to use this product

French Adjectives Word Search

French Adjectives Word Search

This is a word search activity which could be used for year groups 7 - 11. Primarily, I would use this as a cover lesson activity. I have included some follow up exercises for any students who need an extension activity or need their learning to be stretched further.

French Listening Activity

French Listening Activity

This is a homework that I set my class last year; however it can be used as a starter, plenary or just as something to pass time. The sound clip is attached to the pp but as sometimes technology does let you down, I have attached the original audio clip to this also. Please review and keep me updated with ideas for resources that help you.

Love Island Themed End of Year French Lesson

Love Island Themed End of Year French Lesson

I created this Love Island-themed lesson in order to engage my Year 9 classes, particularly those who aren't taking French at GCSE. The aim of the activity is to find the most compatible couple on the island. Along the way, there are newcomers, "re-couplings" and public votes. The pupils must use the information presented to them to make the correct decisions. Points are awarded throughout, and at the end the pupils can have a vote to choose between two couples to be the winners (there are two different outcomes- just click on the names of the chosen winners to be directed on to the correct slide.) The pupil (or pupils, if you are playing in groups) with the most points at the end wins. I supply certain classes with dictionaries if they are slightly less able. Enjoy!

New French GCSE - Practice writing paper and feedback sheets: Theme 1 (Identity and culture)

New French GCSE - Practice writing paper and feedback sheets: Theme 1 (Identity and culture)

Two practice writing papers (one foundation, one higher) following the format of the new GCSE writing exam. The foundation paper includes four questions (describe the photo, 40 words question, translation and 90 words question) and the higher paper includes three (90 words question, 150 words question and translation). The papers focus on Theme 1 of the new spec (Identity and culture) and they cover family and relationships, technology and leisure. I have also included two feedback sheets (one foundation, now higher) that include"check-lists" (based on the AQA mark scheme for writing) to provide quick, personalised feedback for each of the questions. The check lists provide the students with feedback on what went well (WWW) and what they need to do to improve further (TIF). The resource also includes an explanation of the requirements of the Foundation and the Higher writing papers and a copy of the mark scheme for each question.

Une vie de chat

Une vie de chat

PowerPoint introducing the main characters in the film. Pupils then search for translations of useful adjectives. Before watching the first 20 minutes of the film, I ask the students to predict what the characters will be like, based solely on the images I have given them, using the key vocab. I suggested they could use more than one adjective to describe the character and to attempt a negative sentences too. Once they have watched the first 20 minutes, they discuss whether or not their predictions were accurate!

Carousel activity about family + physical description

Carousel activity about family + physical description

I made these resources for a lesson on the topics: family + physical description. We spend most of the hour completing this activity (6 texts and quite a lot of information) and I would recommend it for a top set. Please let me know if you found it useful! Merci bien :)
