Get students used to the reading exam through these past-paper questions. Grouped by theme (Holidays, Food, and Shopping) but all higher tier, this resource can be printed as an exam pack, perhaps for the school holidays or as a long-term homework assignment; or printed as individual sheets to be used in class as starters, plenaries, or mini-assessments. All exam boards have been sampled, but all are relevant to the Holidays, Food, and Shopping theme. Also included is a mark scheme, designed to be printed as an A5 booklet. This allows either peer or self-assessment, or the work to be used by cover teachers who may not be subject specialists.

Revision Spanish GCSE Festivals in Spain and Mexico AQA

These two resources include: A booklet which includes individual readings describing each of the following festivals in Spain: Las torres humanas, el Colacho, Las fiestas de San Fermín, Las fiestas de Moros y Cristianos, Las Fallas, El Día de los Muertos en México, La Tomatina. Students can work through each text and at the end, there is a summary activity. Here the student completes a grid in Spanish which summarizes the key points of each festival, the aim of which is to help them prepare for their writing and speaking exams. Key words are also provided with each reading to support students. I have also included a power point which I have used with my students to practice their speaking on this topic. There is a match-up activity to start - whereby the students match the festival to the region, a photo activity structured on AQA photo exam (this photo is focused on holidays / regions - so it's best if you've covered this already), a role play - AQA exam based (focused on festivals) and a slide with general questions to help students prepare for general conversation based on the topic of festivals / regions.

Two comprehensive resources to be included in any lesson on positive impact of immigration in Spain or the impact of Arab immigration through the ages. The reading comprehension involves verb conjugation activities, gap-fill comprehension and translation both ways. There is a paragraph to be translated into English and sentences to translate into Spanish based on the text. There is a separate key vocabulary list with a translation into Spanish recycling lots of this vocabulary.

This is a basic lesson with only a listening activity and a writing activity. Students will use their Unit vocabulary list to respond to questions based on a model GCSE Speaking General Conversation with a transcript to explore corrections and vocabulary and tenses. Students will then use all of their resources from Lesson 1 and 2 to respond to differentiated question prompts to create an answer to a GCSE style Speaking question. Students will then self/peer assess their answers in order to further improve their answers.
