Guide to Different Social Media Apps with worksheet for Staff/Parents/Students

Guide to Different Social Media Apps with worksheet for Staff/Parents/Students

Included Double sided A4 crib sheet useful for staff containing current social media platforms including EAL.Double sided A4 quiz sheet useful for staff and student as an activity to gauge social media awareness. This can also be used to identify which social media apps groups of students use on a regular basis.Since the late 2000s social media has become one of the most prevalent things in the lives of young people. The vast majority of teenagers admit that most of their social lives happen through social media. As an adult it can sometimes be difficult to keep up with current trends in social media and what apps students are using. This Information Sheet covers the basics of different social media apps and what potential dangers they pose to young people. This sheet is regularly updated and was last updated in June 2017 to include a number of Non-English Social Media sites that may be popular with EAL students. Perfect as a conversation starter with Secondary school students or as a guide for staff and parents. About the Author - I work in an OFSTED Grade 1 Secondary school as the Online Safeguarding Coordinator and Online Child Protection. I am a trained CEOP ambassador and give lectures to staff, parents and children in schools as well as lectures at Universities and other Parental Groups. Transition booklet and social story SEN

Transition booklet and social story SEN

Download includes three documents.1. Transition booklet: designed to be conducted with the student with support. It introduces the student, who their teachers will be and what will be the same and different in the upcoming year. (spaces to insert pictures or for the child to draw themselves and their new teacher)I'd suggest that they are done in school to gain context but be taken home to support students over the holidays. 2. Same and different pictures: a page of pictures which students can sort into same and different for the upcoming year. Would be great as a class circle time to explain to the students and for them to ask questions to ease anxiety. They can also be used as a cut and stick exercise for page three of the transition booklet. (e.g. friends, classroom, teacher, lunch time, play time, learning, playground etc)3. Back to school social story: A social story to ease the transition from the holidays to school in September.

World Book Day Quiz

World Book Day Quiz

Another one of my 'interactive' Quizzes - this is #3!The pattern is the same as my other ones - so TV Intros, Who Am I?, Films, Dingbats etc. However, all of these have a focus on World Book Day - so all the questions are linked to books. You could, obviously, do this at other times though! It's aimed to be accessible across the Key Stages - I've done it with 7s (with a number of clues!) right up to my Upper 6th English. There are rounds my younger class did much better at!!! It should happily take up a lesson or a tutor period - the answers are included at the back. You can pick up my other two quizzes - in the same format - here:End of Term Quiz #1End of Term Quiz #2
