Design your own Shofar

Design your own Shofar

The shofar is a musical instrument made from a ram’s horn. The Shofar is used in synagogue to announce the beginning and end of the Jewish festivals of Rosh Hashanah (New Year), and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). The blowing of the shofar symbolises a wake-up call to reflect on the events of the past year, to apologise for any mistakes, and to make changes for the New Year ahead. It is also a time to ask for forgiveness and to forgive others. Great for lessons about Jewish festivals. For more free resources head to our Learning Portal: https://teachersportal.org.uk/schools/
