Economics AfL sheet

One of the AfL sheets our department use. It can be completed by students and/or staff. Tick boxes relate to the main exam board examination skills students need to demonstrate. There is then space for an overall evaluation of their skills, as well as a target box. Students and staff also circle perceived effort and presentation by circling boxes at the top.

This is something I adapted after coming across something on the internet a while ago (apologies that I can not remember the original source or the author). It aims to encourage students to read around the subject, and record this in a simple yet effective way.

AQA Economics Macro Diagram Checklist

Students reflect on their confidence/ability to draw the Macro diagrams needed for the new AQA A-Level Economics specification. I would get my students in groups to come up with as many diagrams as possible themselves, and then issue them this afterwards as an aid memoire.

I produced this booklet for my L6th tutor group to help them when writing UCAS personal statements. My tutees are primarily interested in applying for Economics, or Economics related undergraduate courses, however, there are other sample personal statements in here too such as Maths, Engineering, Drama and Experimental Psychology.

They then complete an holistic judgement on their performance as well as focusing on what went well, and three areas for development. AQA Econ:25 mark essay on Trade vs. Aid

A 25 mark exemplar essay for the AQA Economics syllabus for Year 2, Macroeconomics. Students would not be expected to write this much of course, but I tried to cover a range of ideas, so that they can steal the bits they can relate to the most based on their own understanding, and so they can see lots of different points of analysis in terms of breadth of ideas.
