This is a product design project based on designing trainers. The SOW details weekly tasks for a 10 week project suitable for year 7 or 8. The tasks include product analysis, product design, logo and packaging design, marketing and evaluation. Also included is the 15 page booklet which includes all worksheets and resources for the unit, including self, peer and teacher assessment boxes.

This SOW has been written to get year 9 students excited about art by exploring urban artists and techniques. The SOW has been written to be student friendly, with an A3 flow diagram with images and colour coded to explain the project, with links to GCSE criteria to get students into the habit of working in a similar way to KS4.

This is a document that I’ve put together to clarify for my students what is involved in a project and the process that they will go through when designing and making a product or sculpture on the AQA 3D Art and Design A-level course. I have also broken down the assessment criteria into a series of questions to help them understand the requirements for each assessment objective. Students who had not previously completed an art course and/or who had previously completed DT/engineering found this particularly useful!

A clear presentation that encourages students to be analytical to support their marks in AO1 when discussing the work of a photographer. Lots of prompt questions to help them structure their written analysis and to help them take inspiration from the artist. I wrote it for A-level but have also used it with GCSE Photography students to encourage a higher standard of work.

This has been a successful project with GCSE students. The file include: - an A3 visual overview of the whole project, linked to the AOs and colour coded, laid out as a flow diagram with photos etc. - An overview of timings for each task, with links to what goes on each A1 presentation board - A student checklist with extensions to go with each task, written with keen/HPA students in mind.

A really good resource which I have printed and laminated, and photography students use every lesson! These cards have been created to support students with composition in photography. They were written for year 10 as an introduction to the skill of using different compositions such as negative space, rule of thirds, leading lines etc. and will be a useful reference for year 11 as a visual reminder. There are 6 A4 colourful cards ready to be laminated, each for a different type of composition with clear tips, diagrams and photos for reference.

This worksheet has been created to help structure students planning for their photoshoots. Laid out as a colourful table, students complete the boxes using the prompt questions. Aimed at GCSE students.

Introductory lesson to photograms - suitable for GCSE and A-level. Practical element to the lesson, including labelling the darkroom equipment. Full lesson with worksheets and review.

A visual flow diagram for students to use to help them structure their experiments with links to photographers. It clarifies how to use photographers to inspire their experiments, with a focus on supporting them with refining their ideas to get the best marks in AO2. Written for GCSE but I've also used it with A-level, early on in the course with students that are new to the subject.

This resource includes all lessons for a short project on lighting inspired initially by Cornelia Parker and Tom Raffield. There are 50 slides, covering an introduction to the project and the artists, mood board and design pages, observational drawing prototyping, presentation and evaluation. It was written as a skills development project for new year 12 students on the AQA 3D Art and Design course, and assessment objectives are referenced throughout. The tasks use primarily paper, wire and card but could be adapted if you wanted to use other materials. There are printable worksheets, flipped learning opportunities and lots of examples of ideas for students to help them along the way. My group engaged with this project really effectively,

This is a resource that we use with our students as part of a second GCSE project where we do a 'mock exam' style project. Students are given a choice of 3 titles, then encouraged to work more independently, with the use of a checklist. The three topics are: - Nature and Natural Form - Identity - Groups of Objects Each topic is introduced as a page of artists with images, and a list of things that students could focus on, draw, photograph etc. There is then a checklist which applies to all starting points and covers the whole project.

This PowerPoint was written for a KS3 transition session with a group of SEN students but would be suitable for all groups. The topic is alternative drawing, and there are a range of short drawing tasks that focus on being creative rather than perfect or accurate in order to build confidence.

This resources is a double sided A3 learning mat which breaks down the AOs for students, highlighting what they need to do to be successful in each area. A particularly good resource for encouraging students to push for higher grades. Colourful, clear and student friendly, my classes have responded well to this resource and found it useful!

They cover giving feedback on taking photographs, editing photos, artist research and annotations/evaluations. Mainly aimed at GCSE photography students but could be suitable for A-level.
