A-Level lesson focused on introducing the topic of Glaciation, with emphasis on the Glacial System. You may find that this has to be taught as 2 lessons. Objectives: State the inputs, outputs, stores and transfers of the glacial system. Explain the changes in the inputs to and outputs from a glacier over short-term and long-term scales. Identify the glacial budget including glacier mass balance and equilibrium. Describe positive & negative feedback in the glacier system. These concepts are introduced and outlined in this lesson, with a view on building knowledge as the topic progresses. Includes a maths skill worksheet, however this could be skipped for a higher ability class as it includes some repetitive calculations. Designed for WJEC/Eduqas specification (1.2.1), however can be used and adapted for other A-Level specifications.
