Testing for significance using a critical values table
Type 2 error
The purpose of replication in relation to the study
Design a study (12 marks) (An experiment including the procedure, design, variables, control measures, assessment of reliability of data, descriptive and inferential stats)
I use narrow margins, so if the formatting is ‘out’ then try changing the margins to narrow. Please do get in touch on this website or via twitter @blonde_pretzel or YouTube: Successful Psychology, if you have any questions or concerns about the resource.
Thanks for looking at my resource.

This is the 4th in a set of unofficial exam papers for the Research Methods section of the Psychology A level exam.
The stimulus provides information about testing the relationship between anxiety and accuracy of eye-witness testimony.
This paper tests:
Identification of sampling technique
Strengths and limitations of a sampling technique
Hypothesis Writing (Correlation)
Assessing the reliability of questionnaires
Writing an Informed Consent Form
Display of a table of data into a suitable graph
Interpretation of a Scattergraph/table of data
Identification and justification of a probability level
Testing for Significance using critical values tables
Type 1 error
Writing a reference
The purpose and content of an abstract
Design a study (12 marks) (An experiment including experimental design, variables, control measures, procedures, specialist materials, descriptive and inferential stats)
I use narrow margins, so if the formatting is ‘out’ then try changing the margins to narrow. Please do get in touch on this website or via twitter @blonde_pretzel or YouTube: Successful Psychology, if you have any questions or concerns about the resource.

This is the 5th in a set of unofficial exam papers for the Research Methods Section of the Psychology A level exam.
The stimulus provides information about an observational study in a prison to compare aggressive acts by prisoners in either a Government run or privately run prison.
This paper tests:
Type of observation
Hypothesis Direction
Writing a Null Hypothesis
Operationalising behavioural categories
Addressing lack of informed consent
Identification and justification of sampling techniques
Assessing reliability of data
Calculation of percentage increase
Identification and justification of a suitable inferential stats test
Testing for significance using a critical values table
The purpose of content analysis
Explanation of how to carry out a content analysis
Design a study (12 marks) (A correlation study including information on research method, variables, hypothesis writing, procedure, assessment of reliability of data, descriptive and inferential stats)

I have made a set of unofficial exam papers for the Research Methods section of the exam. This is the 1st set.
I have made a video to accompany this exam paper showing students how to ‘decode’ the stimulus.
The stimulus for this paper is an experiment testing the difference in mood between teachers who play on dance mats for 30 minutes a day for 2 weeks and those that don’t.
The exam paper tests:
Sampling
Limitation of a volunteer sample
Hypothesis Direction
Hypothesis Writing
Pilot Study
Control of Extraneous Variables
Interpretation of descriptive statistics
Justification of a Mann Whitney test
Testing for Significance using Critical Values Tables
Peer Review
Limitation of Peer Review
Type 1 Error
Aims of a Debrief
Design a study (12 marks) Please note that the design a study for this first set is designed to be very much like the stimulus. In the other unofficial exam papers I have written, the design a study sections are a different research method to the one in the stimulus, however, because this is the first set, this one is slightly easier in that it is asking the students to design a study similar to the original, but on students. It does have elements they will need to consider carefully, like how to ensure each participant acts as their control, which obviously has implications for the experimental design they will choose).
The mark scheme is comprehensive and should allow for peer marking. It includes a model answer for the 12 mark design a study question.
I usually use narrow margins, so if the formatting is out, try changing the margins to narrow.

Teaching videos and handouts for Explanations for Attachment.
Learning Theory of Attachment
Bowlby’s Monotropic Theory of Attachment.
This is specification 5 of the Attachment Unit for AQA A level Psychology.

Many thanks for looking at my resources.
Aimed at anyone who has experienced being love-bombed followed by being ghosted (or dumped for no reason).
It uses Ainsworth’s ‘Insecure-Resistant’ attachment type to give a possible explanation.
It uses the Strange Situation research and is applicable for those studying A Level Psychology, The attachment Unit, but doesn’t include any evaluation.
I am making another video and resource specifically on the Strange Situation for A Level Psychology, which is better for students of psychology.
The PowerPoint and handouts accompany a teaching video I made on the Humanistic Approach https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9Z9gVjmNsI.
The PowerPoint contains everything for a full 16 mark question on the Humanistic Approach. The PowerPoint follows the structure for the essay.
There are some YouTube videos embedded (see notes section for links, and/or hover over the pictures) to help understanding of the Humanistic Approach.
It contains A01, A02 and A03 materials to cover everything for the exam and activities for students to do during class to help consolidation of learning.
I reference all my handouts in the header which is why the handouts are labelled below:
AP09 - a handout of an article from the Guardian with questions to emphasize ‘Conditions of Worth’.
AP10 - a booklet for students to complete at home to help consolidation of learning.
AP11 - a short answer test (10 minutes recommended) for the start of the next lesson.
AP11a - the answer sheet for the short answer test
NB I usually have my margins on ‘narrow’ for Word documents. I presume when you download them this will be automatic, but if the formatting seems a bit off, change the margins to narrow and it should be fine.
PowerPoint and handout for spec 3 on the Social Influence unit.
Variables affecting conformity.
Works best the with Cat text book.
if you have any issues with the formatting of the word documents or pdf, please do get in touch via this platform or twitter @blonde_pretzel so I can help. thanks
