Topic overview: In this topic we look at where India location and also why it is an wonderful country to visit. We look at how India’s population is booming and how the country has changed over the past 50 years. We uncover the future of India with focus on it’s rapid technology expansion. Students will learn about the meaning and importance of globalisation and how India is connected to the rest of the world. They will use information they have learnt during this topic to design their own holiday to anywhere in India. My students found this topic fascinating! Included: PowerPoint - with well chosen videos. Actvities and worksheets - differentiated and suitable for all abilities. Suitable for KS3 curriculum but could also be used for KS4 linked to the ‘development’ and ‘urban world’ topics. Geography World Map Game Great starter or plenary . This is my students favourite end of lesson game. Take’s between 5-15 mins. Aim of the game: person with the most points wins. One point for every correct answer. Instructions: Nominate someone (or yourself) to be the country picker. Randomly select two students to come up to the front of the room. Nominated perso call’s out the name of the country. First person to find it win’s a point. Most points wins! Enjoy!
