Discusses problems created by segregation and assimilation for Muslim communities and individuals living in Britain. Allows students to analyse the possibility of assimilation into a secular society for Muslims in Britain. Made for WJEC/Eduqas A Level Religious Studies, Islam (Theme 3, E).

A lesson that looks at the Muslim / Islamic views of Jesus / Prophet Isa. I use this lesson as part of a Year 7 SOW about Islam, after we have covered Christianity. There is also an assessment at the end that asks whether or not Jesus means the sames to Christians and Muslims and looks for clear comparisons between the 2 views.

Eduqas/WJEC specifiy 64 words (with definitions) in their ISLAM specification for A2. This powerpoint is hyperlinked, so you (or the students) can choose a random button and it will either take them to the key word or the definition. If they choose to select random key words, they should write the definitions. If they choose a random definition, they should be able to give the correct key word. This works fab on interactive whiteboards. You could add images or youtube links to the "definition" slides.

3 lessons that lead to a baseline assessment for year 7 that can be completed in the Autumn term. I use this to see what students know about Christianity, before moving onto other religious beliefs. Also contains the assessment, grades with descriptors and a feedback sheet.

I use this test in the Summer term, between AS and A2. I have written it based on the Educas/WJEC spec but I think it could be used across all boards, as it focuses on beliefs and practices. It is a 30 question test, 1 and 2 mark answers, equalling 45 marks. I use this in a one hour lesson, but you could also add some A01 or A02 exam style questions and make it longer.

Lesson for year 10 about the Muslim belief in Angels This compares Muslim beliefs and Christian beliefs, discusses different Qur'an passages and explains the nature of angels, with a focus on Raqib and Atid. It also looks at what can be learnt about angels from the Night Journey (Al Miraj). At the end of the lesson there is a 5 mark and a 12 mark exam style question with marking criteria.
