Year 1 Mental Maths Challenge / morning activity A worksheet of 5 activities (one for each day) that focus on a mental maths challenge. It could be used at the start of each lesson or as a morning activity. Includes problems from White Rose and NCETM. The objectives (taken from NC) reached in this sheet are: Count to 100, forwards and backwards, beginning with 0 or 1, or from any given. Know by heart all number bonds to five. **This is week 4; **subsequent weeks can also be purchased on my shop.

The plan covers themes of upper class life, workhouses, Victorian schools and wealth. The plan also includes key questions, lesson objectives, teaching activities, assessment opportunities, historical skills and understanding, key vocabulary and resources for each of the 5 lessons. The 5 engaging lessons expose children to evidence handling, making inferences, using sources and looking at how the past can be represented. *Please note this resources only includes the planning.
