Lesson where students learn about Trump and Biden and ultimately cast a vote. Students take a 10 question quiz to determine who they might vote for. Students watch campaign videos for both Trump and Biden and make notes. Students watch and make notes from the recent US election debate between Trump and Biden. Students watch and make notes on the Vice-Presidential debate. Students explain who they would vote for. There is a PowerPoint and note taking sheet included.

This Black Lives Matter Citizenship session is aimed at KS3, KS4 or KS5 students. The session could run from 3-5 hours depending on teaching choice. In the first session students will watch videos about the development of the Black Lives Matter movement and learn about the history of the movement. In the second session students will make notes about arguments for and against statues and monuments such as the Edward Colston statue being removed permanently. Students will then be divided into groups to represent different community groups such as the council and the police. Students will have to write a speech using success criteria concerning whether statues and monuments should be removed. There is also a peer assessment sheet included. The session culminates in a class vote. There is also a reflection sheet included. The session also links in very well with the British Values agenda.
